Her yesterday was five years ago. What will her tomorrow bring?
When HANNAH KRAEGER saves a family injured in a car accident, she has no idea she has changed events in the past. Waking the next morning, Hannah discovers her yesterday was really five years ago.
Each trip Hannah takes through time changes the timeline and her own life. With help from DR. SETH MCALLISTER, Hannah must unravel the mystery of why she time travels and who she actually is before the strange ability costs her future, the man she loves, and even her life.
YESTERDAY is a thrilling Christian Romantic Suspense filled with unexpected twists, mystery, and romance.
“Come on, Abby, that isn’t funny! I was Superwoman last night and rescued a family who’d had an accident in the snowstorm. A helicopter came to the lodge and took them to the hospital. No one told you about the helicopter?”
Abby stared at me like I’d lost my mind. “Hannah, maybe you should sit down. Are you not feeling well?”
“I’m fine! But I want to know what’s going on! Where’s Seth? He’ll explain it to you.”
“Hannah, there isn’t anyone here at Silver Springs named Seth. There was no injured family or a helicopter here last night. And . . .” She walked over and lifted the window blind to reveal a sunshiny day with only a moderate amount of snow. “We haven’t had any new snow in at least two weeks!”
Five feet away, he glanced up. Instant recognition and shock flooded his handsome face. He stopped, staring at me.
“Hannah,” he choked out in a strangled voice.
My eyes met his blue-green. “Seth,” I whispered.
Before I could collect my thoughts and form an explanation, Seth crossed the distance and enfolded me in his arms. For a long moment he just held me, as if afraid I would disappear.
Finally drawing back, he studied me.
“Hannah, I can’t believe it’s really you. You’re exactly the same. Where have you been? It’s been five years! I’ve tried everything to find you.”
As I stood looking into Seth’s handsome face and feeling his arms around me, all the confusion and uncertainty faded. My world finally felt right.
I smiled into those beautiful blue-green eyes and laughed lightly. “Would you believe me if I told you that to me it was only yesterday?”
Seth looked confused, but then his eyes traced the contours of my face and he murmured, “It’s been so long, Hannah, so long.” His gaze focused on my lips. I knew he was going to kiss me. I leaned forward.
At the sound of his name, Seth jerked. A guilty, pained expression crossed his face. He quickly smoothed his features and turned with a smile to the approaching woman. She was the same rude nurse I had encountered upstairs.
“Seth,” she repeated, “who’s this?”
“Katherine,” he replied, “I’d like you to meet Hannah. Remember? This is the girl who saved the Lawson family five years ago.”
Turning to me, pain again flitted through Seth’s expression. “Hannah, this is Katherine Colson, . . . my fiancé.”
Yesterday starts with a terrifying scene that left me jittery. Hannah Kraeger saves a family from a horrible wreckage and delivers them to Silver Springs where med student Seth takes over. When all the action is over Hannah finally releases all her pent up emotions, and Seth is only too happy to comfort her through them. The bond that forms between them is instant and permanent. Hannah awakes the next morning to discover the accident that took place yesterday for her, was five years ago for everyone else. Hannah then learns that she has changed history. Initially that family had died in the accident.
Hannah then finds the present-day Seth, and after the initial glee of finding each other, there’s a tear jerking, heartbreaking scene where they must say their good-byes. Seth is engaged. Things change when Hannah jumps time again. The plot thickens as new elements are slowly revealed.
This was a quick read for me. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. It’s a good thing I already had The Locket to read, because it ends with a cliffhanger. I really loved Hannah’s character. Right in the first chapter you discover that she’s the kind of girl that relies on God to see her through her tough moments. She realizes that when she may not be strong enough to accomplish something, God is. She’s also the kind of girl that chooses to do the right thing, even when it seems impossibly hard. Then there’s Seth that has an equally honorable character. That’s not the case for his fiance Katherine, however.
The only thing that didn’t sit right with me was Hannah and Seth’s initial introduction to each other. Seth seemed overly comforting. It just wasn’t something I can picture happening between two people who’ve never met. That is all quickly forgotten, though, as the story progresses.
I give this a strong 4 stars! I was sucked right in from the start and taken through a myriad of emotions. The plot was extremely intriguing, and I was left dying to know what comes next in The Locket.
Hannah suddenly finds that she has time travelled once again, but this time is different. After helping save a woman’s life, Hannah discovers that she has completely altered the timeline and thrown her very existence into jeopardy.
Facing life-threatening effects upon returning to her own time, Hannah is then given a death sentence: if she time travels again, she will die. Now, Hannah must solve the clues to her own identity and find a way to save her own life before she is once again sent spiraling through time.
Will her mother’s locket hold the key to both her past and her future? Has she just found the love of her life only to lose him? Could God have a plan for Hannah amidst the chaos?
Round 2!! If you haven’t read Yesterday, STOP HERE! Otherwise, you’re going to encounter some major spoilers. Book 2 in the Yesterday series picks right up where book 1 left off. Hannah and Seth realize they have travelled together into the past. Now they are about to deliver a baby – one very significant to Hannah. The delivery is a success, but Hannah barely survives the trip back to the present. She won’t survive another trip. It becomes a mad rush for Seth and Wayne to find something that can help. To add to the plot, Wayne’s feelings are growing for Hannah, and Katherine definitely has something up her sleeve.
With The Locket picking right up where Yesterday left off, you are getting the same great characters you got in the first book, but the plot thickens even more. There were several SHOCKERS, and again I was on an emotional roller coaster with this one. Amanda Tru really knows how to pull those heart strings. I really can’t find anything negative to say about this one. It doesn’t have that absolute WOW factor (the I have to tell the world about this), but it really was a great read, and I can’t wait to read the next one. With this being another cliffhanger, I’m so glad the next installment is already out! I give this a strong 4 stars!!!!
About The Author
Although I loved my job as an elementary school teacher, I am now very blessed to be mommy to three adorable little boys and living my dream of being an author.
I have a vivid imagination and have always been easily entertained by the stories in my head. Fortunately, I also love to paint those pictures with words. I like writing a wide variety of genres, and my current book list includes everything from a Christian time travel / romance series, to an action-packed suspense, to a romance involving a woman who likes to anonymously play matchmaker.
Although I enjoy historical, Christian, paranormal, suspense, and everything in between, my books all have one thing in common–I love to surprise my readers with the unexpected. I currently have 7 books available for kindle, nook, and paperback.
My family and I live in a small Idaho town where the number of cows outnumbers the number of people.
