When Lila unwillingly moves to the country town of Shade, she can’t imagine the life-altering events that lie in wait for her. Shade has a curfew and has always been surrounded by myths. A central feature of the town is its famous statue of Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, whose spirit is said to protect the innocent.
Lila falls in with a group of intriguing teenagers with luminescent eyes and soon she is drawn into the shadowlands of fantasy and reality, where destiny collides.
A mysterious local girl, Cresida, warns her to stay away, but Lila is drawn to them like a moth to a flame.
A compelling debut novel about how love and fate chooses you. Inspired by Grecian demigod Artemis and the mythical femme fatale, Wolf Sirens is sure to enthral all lovers of the fantasy, romance genre.
Okay, so the ending KILLED me on this one!!
The book started out with an intriguing first chapter. Shortly after I found myself getting confused as the scene jumped ahead and then back to the present out of nowhere. I quickly caught on, though, and began to understand the story.
The main character, Lila, began to grate on my nerves. She started to get a big head while hanging around with the popular kids, and then completely used Reid to get to Sky. She even went so far as to sleep with Reid out of guilt – her FIRST TIME at that! There didn’t seem to be too much admirable about her. Nonetheless, I still found myself caring for her, and eventually rooting on her relationship with Sky. But, then at the very end I even began to question her actions towards Sky, although she was clearly in love with him. I won’t say too much on that. I don’t want to give away the ending! It’s a real shocker!! Never saw it coming. In that sense, I thought it was the best part of the whole book.
So, needless to say, I didn’t care too much for Lila, but I still feel like I have to know what’s next. I’ll definitely read more from Tina Smith!
