When you have a good heart,
You help too much,
You trust too much,
You give too much,
You love too much,
And it always seems,
You hurt the most
How do you become strong enough to leave an abusive husband? How do you get away safely? How do you get your self-esteem back? Brennan Michaels, or so her new I.D. states, escapes by train to an unknown small town in Wyoming. She finds the town is not even on any maps but something draws her there. The township befriends her, she finds a job and a place to live, in a Boarding House, not realizing the other tenant is a Hot, Sexy ex-football player and model that is dealing with his own past issues.
Hutchinson Parker or Hutch to those close to him, had a loving wife, who he cherished and was his entire world until she was taken from him by Cancer. His life ceased to exist, his football and modeling didn’t matter anymore. Nothing mattered until he found a small town in Wyoming and after nine months of grieving he meets a girl named Brennan who takes his breath away. He can tell she is dealing with something bad, something happened to her. Most people who find the small town are running from something. Her skittish behavior and the fading marks on her face means one thing. Someone abused her.
Will she find her way home?

My ***3 Star*** Review
I absolutely fell in love with Hutch! He’s perfect boyfriend material! He made the story for me! I was just a little bit surprised that Brennan fell for him so fast, considering all she just went through. Of course, I’m sure NO girl could withstand him for long. The only time I questioned him at all was when he tackled her to the ground. It was all meant in fun, but still, you’d expect the guy to know better. Why not tackle her on the bed? LOL! Seriously, though, he was wonderful in all his passion and concern and protectiveness – just what Brennan needed!
The POV swithces between Brennan and Hutch. I was very intrigued from the start, but then there were a few times that Brennan’s inner dialogue came across as a little awkward to me. But, then entered Hutches voice, and I thought Green did a great job with the male perspective.
This story definitely appealed to the emotions. There were both some heartwarming moments and some bone-chilling, terrifying ones. But, there were also a couple of times that their actions didn’t make sense to me. I felt like less precautions were being made than would have been realistic.
I do have a confession to make. I did get so extremely anxious about the ending at one point that I had to flip to the end. I was that involved in the story and my heart was RACING! I HAD to see how it was going to end or I was going to LOSE IT!! So, the story had a few issues for me, but it still really, really grabbed me. I definitely look forward to reading more from Vicki Green!!

I have a wonderful husband and two teenage boys.
I have been reading Romance books for over 2 years, yes I was a late bloomer. I have had this story in my head for that long and decided one day to just put it on paper, see how it reads. I just kept going until soon it was a full story.
I am so grateful to be able to publish my first book of many.
