Falling hard never felt so good.
Pair skaters Courtney and Mark have one shot left at their Olympic dream. They vow not to let anything get in their way, especially not Josh and Stephanie, the wealthy and talented brother and sister team.
The heart doesn’t always listen to reason, though…
The more time Courtney spends with sweet, shy Josh, the harder she falls for him. But they are on opposite sides of the competition, and their futures are headed in opposite directions. Will their friendship blossom into more or are their paths too different to cross?
I turned to Josh with my arms folded and my head cocked to the side. “So, you’re an athlete, a dancer and a musician? If you tell me you’re a skilled artist, I’m gonna have to hate you.”
He laughed. “I can barely draw a stick figure.”
“Whew.” I swiped my hand across my forehead.
“Even if I was the next Picasso, though, I wouldn’t have told you.” He paused and held my gaze. “I don’t like the idea of you hating me.”
My stomach fluttered. Josh didn’t often make extended eye contact, but whenever he locked those sinfully blue eyes on mine, I became a mesmerized puddle of swoon.
My ****4 Star**** Review
Crossing the Ice is has a smooth and quick pace from the start. I was sucked right in with the first two sentences and didn’t want to put the book down. Courtney and Mark have been skating together since they were children, and they want nothing more than to make the Olympics their final year before she goes to college and he to work for his father and gets engaged. Their coaches throw a kink in Courtney & Mark’s plan, though, when the coaches take on a brother-sister duo to train that will be competing against them. First issue is the sister, Stephanie. She’s just not very nice at all. Then there’s Josh, and well he just couldn’t be nicer to Courtney. Second issue, is that Courtney and Josh have different plans for their futures. He’s intended to go to UCLA, while she’s hoping to head to Boston.
I really connected to Courtney, and it was easy to feel everything she was feeling. Then there was Josh. Let’s just say the chemistry between them was GOOD, very GOOD! I loved that the story had just the right amount of drama. It was enough to keep you on your toes, but not make you so mad that you want to throw your book. It’s a really sweet story!
Negatives? The only negative for me was that the main story line was predictable. It wasn’t completely unique. However, it still had enough originality that it kept me glued.
I would recommend this to all romance lovers!
