Ali here ~
I’m so excited to be getting another review out!!! I still have several more to write that I just NEED to share. But, I’m going to start with Jackson Noveau!!! Why a hero from home??? This book is set in good old Louisiana, my home state! So, brownie points right from the top!!
Title: Give Me Fever
Authors: Jasmine and Arielle Lockhart
Release Date: Jan 15, 2019
Blurb: A millionaire hot sauce mogul returns to his hometown of Fever, Louisiana to buy back his family farm. The only thing standing in his way is the owner: his ex-wife–only to find out they’re still married. He wants the farm. She wants a divorce. The two make a bet to settle the score once and for all. As the ex-flames spend the week together, things smolder hotter than a fever, but with only one winner, someone is sure to get burnt.
I was excited for this book from the get go because it’s set in my home state. I wasn’t disappointed either! Louisiana has a rich culture and it was fun seeing a lot of that come out in the story. It’s set in south Louisiana down near Houma in a small town named Fever. I had to laugh at a lot of the little things that popped up that I could relate to that the rest of the world probably couldn’t. LIKE crawfishing out of my pond. But, I think that’ll make it even more interesting for the rest of y’all!
So, let me tell you about Jackson. I’ll start at the beginning. I HATED him. I mean straight up thought he was a MAJOR A-HOLE, and if Jessa even thought about giving him the time of day, well I was gonna be pissed! I even had to convince myself to keep reading a couple times because I was so convinced she was going to be stupid and give in to his ridiculous self.
Well, let me just say. The Lockhart sisters did their job RIGHT!!! Jackson had me wrapped around his little finger before Jessa was! And I mean WRAPPED up tight! Every day that Jackson spent back in Louisiana, you’d see a little more Louisiana in him. And let me just tell you that Louisiana looks mighty FINE on him!!!
It was a slow building process watching Jackson shred his big city personality for the small town country boy that he had locked up. It was perfect! In the end he had me sighing and swooning and ready to beg for him myself!!
So now…I just really want to know if we’re going to get the rest of the story on the Noveau siblings!!! I’m all in for Gigi, Zachariah, and Dreaux’s stories!!! HINT! HINT!!
So, I’m curious. Have you read any books from your home state/town that have really done a great job at displaying what it’s like where you’re from??
