I’ve been a prince in exile, but I’m finally going home, tarnished crown and all. This time, I won’t let anyone keep me away…

Not Ariel, the woman I left behind. Not the killer on my tail. Hell, not even my cousin—the king—can stop me.

Unlike my conniving brother, I have no designs on the throne. Let better men rule.

But I do have a score to settle.

Everything was going just fine until Ariel is assigned to my protection detail. Little Miss Hates My Ass will ruin everything.

One look at her and I know it’s not over between us. All I have to do is convince her I never forgot her…and not get dead in the process.

Ali’s Review

I was a little confused for a bit. I thought this was the first book in a series, but it very much felt like the middle of a series. I kept reading, though, and found that I was still able to fall for Tristan and Ariel. I ultimately did some digging and found that while this is the beginning of a series, a lot of the characters had already been introduced through some of Nana’s other series. So, now I want to go back and read those. I would even recommend doing that before picking up this book. However, it isn’t necessary to read the others in order to enjoy this one, because I certainly did. I just think my review might have been even higher than 4 stars if I had read the other books first. One of my favorite things about this book was the constant back and forth between Ariel and Tristan. It seemed they were constantly taking one step forward and then two steps back. It kept me right on the edge and flipping the pages.

Ariel is one tough, gun-toting chick, and yet she has a very vulnerable side to her. Though she’s tough as nails, she’s very down-to-earth.

Tristan makes the perfect book boyfriend. He’s the brave prince who’s willing to do dangerous things to protect the innocent. He has integrity and he’s full of heart. He also has a very vulnerable side. He’s went through some horrific things, but he’s fighting to have a good life.

This book is more HFN than HEA. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. You get a bit of closure, but there is more and more suspense building, and you know there are some dread-filled moments ahead of both Ariel and Tristan. It definitely has me wanting to pick up the next book where I’m fully anticipating that HEA! This is one for you suspense junkies! 4 Strong Stars!!!!

The good news is, I’m out of exile and I have the woman I love by my side. And I still have my crown, tarnished though it may be.

The bad news is…all of that is temporary.

There are those that want me as far away from the crown as possible. I still have a killer on my tail who has a more permanent solution in mind. Oh and there’s the small matter of all the secrets I’m keeping from Ariel.

For her I risked it all, but will she wind up paying the price?

Once she knows my secrets. What will she do to protect me and the crown?

What will I be willing to do to protect her?

The answer is: everything.

About the Author:
USA Today Bestselling Author, NANA MALONE’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she borrowed from her cousin on a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana at a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since.
With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters. Waiting for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana, meantime works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.
The books in her series have been on multiple Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble best seller lists as well as the iTunes Breakout Books list and most notably the USA Today Bestseller list.
Until that ninja job comes through, you’ll find Nana working hard on additional books for her series as well as other fun, sassy romances for characters that won’t leave her alone. And if she’s not working or hiding in the closet reading, she’s acting out scenes for her husband, daughter and puppy in sunny San Diego.
