Ali here ~
To all my fellow Americans, I hope you had a lovely 4th yesterday! We enjoyed friends, brisket, and fireworks with some book discussions thrown in. It was a great day!
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page.
Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
Finally… reveal the book!
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice and asks you to turn to page 56 (or 56% in your e reader) of your book (any book) and share a sentence or two that doesn’t have spoilers.
First line:
There are some days that are destined to change your life.
56%:
After a crazy week at work, I was more than ready to escape the city for a little family time.
I said I was going to have this review up the other day, but I failed. I’m going to try again for today.
Happy Reading,
Ali
I love the first line because it’s so true. Hope you enjoyed the book overall!

It is so true! I have now read two of the books in this series and they’re both great.

Well, I didn’t get to it today. There just aren’t enough hours in a day. Hopefully tomorrow!

Nice cover. I hope you enjoyed this one. This week I am featuring the best YA I’ve read so far this year – Past Perfect Life by Elizabeth Eulberg. Happy reading!
