Happy August everyone!! July was a super busy month for us – loads of paperwork! As some of you might recall, my oldest graduated from high school in May. This felt like an accomplishment for him and me (since I homeschooled him all the way through). So in July we got him registered for his first semester of college and did a tour of the university he’ll be transferring to in a year. Oh, and did I mention that college comes with LOADS of paperwork already?!?
I also did a lot of prep work preparing for going back to school for my other two kids (sophmore and 7th grade). Oh, and I also have class once a week where a couple other kids come in and school with us. My 10th grader is starting to learn Japanese this year and my 7th grader, German. Both of those are completely new to me, so it’ll be a challenge! Thus far, I’ve only studied Latin based languages: Latin, English, Spanish, Italian, and French. And, I have not by any means mastered these. Heck, I haven’t even mastered English! I got excited today at the store when I heard a lady talking to her daughter in Spanish and understood her when she told her to pick out a backpack!
For the month of July I participated in several readathons. I think I did okay, not awesome and not completely terrible on the whole.
For #janeaustenjuly, Here’s the TBR I had ~

I finished a total of 18 books this month. That’s definitely a good reading month. I’m sure things will start slowing down drastically as we get started with the new school year. That’s 114/160 for my Goodreads challenge. I’m 21 books ahead of schedule.
How was your July???
Happy Reading,
Ali
We’re going to be going through the college application process this fall too, and I’m not looking forward to all the paperwork! My daughter took Japanese when she was younger. We really enjoyed the language, but it’s definitely complicated!

It is complicated! Trying to keep Hiragana and Katakana straight is a bit of work. Good luck with all the application stuff. While my son is already enrolled in the local community college, we’re still dealing with the paperwork since he’ll be transferring next year to a bigger university.

Wow, looks like you had a great reading month! Love all the Jane Austen šSeeing the movie poster for the 2005 version makes me want to watch it again right now (one of my all time faves). Hope August continues to be a great reading month for you!

I don’t know how I manage my time either! That’s the one thing I wish I had a better game plan for, but things are constantly changing around here, so I can’t stick to any schedule for too long. Thanks!! Hope you’re having a great weekend, too!
