#IMWAYR ~ 11/4/19

Ali here ~

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

    • Oh wow! Well, funny thing. I said earlier I DNFed it. It was really good, but I was having problems with Atticus’s first chapter – the brutal sex with the “friend”. BUT, here it is evening and I’ve picked it back up. I just couldn’t get the book out of my head.

    • Unfortunately I just DNFed it. The lead guy was participating in some stuff that I just couldn’t get past. It was disappointing because prior to a particular scene I was really enjoying the book. In fact, I was enjoying it enough that I might pick it back up later. I’m just being a picky reader right now. Just a mood I’m in, I guess.

      • I’ve never read anything by her but I saw the synopsis for this about a month ago and thought it sounded interesting! What was your fave of hers (or what would you recommend starting with)? 🙂

      • She’s written a lot that I love, but I would recommend starting with More of You, the first of her Confessions of the Heart series. Each of the 3 books of that series were 5 stars for me. She has a unique style that is almost poetic at times. She uses a lot of short sentences meant to pack a punch and they usually do for me.
