Title: Fix Her Up
Series: Hot & Hammered #1
Author: Tessa Bailey
Release Date: Oct. 11, 2019
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Blurb:A brand new romantic comedy from New York Times bestseller Tessa Bailey!
Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town, but she picked balloons instead of blueprints and they haven’t taken her seriously since. Frankly, she’s over it. Georgie loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh, just not at her own expense. She’s determined to fix herself up into a Woman of the World… whatever that means.
Phase one: new framework for her business (a website from this decade, perhaps?)
Phase two: a gut-reno on her wardrobe (fyi, leggings are pants.)
Phase three: updates to her exterior (do people still wax?)
Phase four: put herself on the market (and stop crushing on Travis Ford!)
Living her best life means facing the truth: Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite?
Travis Ford was major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days. But he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his… bat. And then there’s Georgie, his best friend’s sister, who is not a kid anymore. When she proposes a wild scheme—that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job—he agrees. What’s the harm? It’s not like it’s real. But the girl Travis used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman and there’s nothing fake about how much he wants her…
*****What I Loved About This Book*****
- Funny!
- Georgie was so cute and sweet, but fierce!
- Love the sister bonding & the not giving up on life for men.
- The Hallpass scene was awesome! Sorry, I’m not giving away any details!
- Watching Travis’s slow progression to love!
- Hot & Steamy fun!
***What I Didn’t Like***
- There were a couple times that the club’s attitude seemed to be “It’s All About Me.” I know many would disagree with me, but I don’t agree with that sentiment.
- Some of Travis’s dominant comments were over the top.
I don’t have tons to say about this one, but it was a fun little get away book for me & I enjoyed it immensely. This book came just at the right time for me! 4.5 Stars! I can’t wait to read the next book!
Have you read Fix Her Up or any of Tessa Bailey’s other books? What did you think? Have a recommendation for me?
Happy Reading,

Georgie was my favorite thing about this book. I thought she was just such a wonderful character, and the more I learned about her and why she did the things she did, the more I adored her. I was a fan of the Just Us League, and I am excited to read the next book.

The cover fits if you know the whole story, but I don’t want to spoil too much!

I have really mixed feelings on this one and have to admit that I skimmed a lot of it because I wasn’t at all a fan of certain aspects, such as the male attitudes in this book. But the steaminess was woah, a lot more than I expected (not in a bad way either) 😅 Glad to hear you enjoyed this one!

I get it! Her brother and father’s attitudes were definitely ridiculous. I was glad to at least see growth in them throughout the book. But, I did find some of Travis’s dominant stuff just way over the top. Fortunately for me, I was still able to enjoy this one, though. I totally get the mixed feelings!
