Authors I Want to Try in 2020

I’m a list maker and I’ve been working hard on my BuJo for next year. It’s been fun planning out all the bookish things I want to accomplish in 2020. When thinking about my goals for the coming year, one thing I thought to plan for was to read all of the authors that I’m constantly saying I need to try. So, here’s my list ~

1) Roni Loren
2) Jana Aston
3) Neil Gaiman
4) Krista & Becca Ritchie
5) Tess Thompson
6) Willow Winters
7) Meghan March
8) Carrie Ann Ryan
9) Sarah Dessen
10) Kristen Proby
11) Kelly Jamieson
12) Natasha Madison
13) Emma Mills
14) Kandi Steiner
15) Charlaine Harris

Are you shaking your head at me? Be honest! LOL! I know I should have already read all of these!! My list of authors that I need to try is way longer than this, but these are the ones that come up often.

As you can probably tell, I don’t BuJo the traditional way. I use a binder. That’s just because I’m finicky and often change my mind on how I want to track things. I’ll see someone else’s idea and like it better than what I have. This gives me flexibility. I decided to add months so I can see how I’m progressing on this list over the year.

At the bottom of the page I’ll add authors to make up my list for 2021.

Do you have a list of authors you need to try? Are you a list maker, too? What bookish things do you keep track of?

Happy Reading,

Ali

  2. YAY Gaiman! I’m so glad to see he’s on your list and I hope that you do try him out next year 🤩 He’s hands down one of my favorites and has such a unique writing style! Lol I’m looking forward to trying Sarah Dessen next year too 🙂

  4. I am complete trash for Emma Mills and Sarah Dessen. I have read all their books and want more. I have read the one series, The One’s Who Got Away and one standalone from Loren. That series was fabulous from beginning to end. I love Jamieson’s Aces Hockey books and am enjoying the Wynn Hockey books. I have books from many of the others, that I have been meaning to read, especially Aston and the Ritchies. One author I am glad I found was Jenn Bennett. I started with her YA contemporaries, but found an older historical paranormal adult romance, which was fantastic.

    • The Ones Who Got Away is definitely the Loren book I plan to start with. I wasn’t sure where I wanted to start with Jamieson, but you’ve convinced me to start with Major Misconduct. I just added it to my TBR. Jenn Bennett is another author I need to try! I just added her to my list. I already have several of her books on my TBR. Thanks!!

  5. I like to make lists but I don’t usually follow them so they are kind of pointless. But they are fun to make 🙂 I have only read 3 of the authors on your list: Charlaine Harris, Meghan March, and Neil Gaiman. I hope you enjoy discovering new authors!

  6. I’ve only read 3 of the authors on your list. Roni Loren – love her The Ones Who Got Away series. Kandi Steiner – so far have only read her What He Doesn’t Know duet. And Krista & Becca Ritchie – I adore them! They are the sweetest women (have met them several times) and their Addicted/Calloway series is possibly my favorite contemporary series ever.

  7. I’m not shaking my head at all! I love that you made this list! Here is the order I would start with Addicted to You by Krista & Becca Ritchie and then Meghan March – Start with Beneath This Mask.
