The Sunday Post ~ 1/19/20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are all having a terrific start to your week!

Personal Highlights:

Sunday: I went to church with the kids. Hubby went hunting and brought home a deer. I finished both Winterwood and A Heart So Fierce And Broken. That evening I watched Tolkien with the hubs.
Monday: Most of my day consisted of chores, grading papers, blog hopping, scheduling posts, and reading. I did leave the house to take my youngest son to meet up with my oldest. They went to church to watch the National Championship game with a group of friends. It’s funny because we live in Louisiana, but only my middle child pulls for LSU. The rest are Auburn fans.
Tuesday: Homeschool, blogging, reading, and chores. I did have a little incident. While carrying a stack of laundry and some clothes on hangers, I tripped over my dog and jabbed my hand pretty good with a metal hanger. Here’s the result ~

My hand throbbed pretty badly as I literally watched the bruise form. It happened so quickly. Then the swelling came up behind it. It’s all good now. The swelling is all gone and the bruise isn’t near as visible.
Wednesday: Chores, blog scheduling, blog hopping, homeschooling, and reading today. I finished The Watchmaker’s Daughter.
Thursday: Homeschool class and chores with a little reading. I forgot to journal this day. Second day this year that I forgot, so my journal every day goal has not been fulfilled, but I am definitely making progress on making it a habit, so maybe next year.
Friday: Grocery shopping after being stuck on the interstate for a good while. My oldest got stuck earlier in the day and missed his first class of the day, a math class. The semester only just got started, but fortunately he has a great relationship with this professor from last semester already. Plus he made over 100% A in his class last semester, so he’s not sweating it. My middle son had a friend stay over. And unfortunately I had the start of a sore throat.
Saturday: I played a couple board games with my boys: Blood Rage and Root. Other than that I did some minimal chores and rested while fighting off the cold coming on, which on the upside means I got some good reading in. I finished Unravel Me and can’t wait to start Ignite Me!

  2. Oh no, that picture looks so painful. I remember doing that with my hand on a long door knob before and it was so much more painful than I expected. Felt like my hand would permanently cramp 😅 Looks like you had a great and quite eventful week and that you finished a good few reads too! Hope this week is awesome for you 🙂

  3. I hope your hand is better and that you don’t get a full blown cold. I drink lots of fluids when I get a sore throat which seems to help. It hasn’t made it to a cold for 18 years. I wish you another productive week and enjoy some great books!

    • My hand is all good now, thanks!! I am definitely with you on lots of water. I usually squeeze in a minimum of 8c a day and definitely try for more when I’m feeling sick. I always recommend it to others, too. I felt a little run down Saturday, but by Sunday I had my energy back. I definitely think it would have been worse without all the water. Hope you have a great week!!

  4. I am sorry that you hurt your hand. It is terrible when you hurt a body part that you use so much. I am sporting a few bruises but they are on my thigh so no big deal. It sounds like you and your family had a very busy week. I hope that your sore throat goes away and you have a great week!

    • Thanks! My hand is all good now. You can see the lingering bruise if you look closely, but fortunately it doesn’t even hurt anymore to touch it. It healed up quickly. As for my throat it’s still a little sore and I unfortunately passed it to my husband. But, although my throat is still a bit sore, it doesn’t hurt to eat or drink, and I’m not feeling tired and run down anymore. Hoping my hubby heals up quickly, too. Hope you have a wonderful week, too!!
