#IMWAYR ~ 1/20/20

Ali here ~

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

WHAT I READ LAST WEEK (Since WWW)

I loved both Unravel Me and Gus. I really enjoyed The Watchmaker’s Daughter. Addicted to You was a tough read for me. I have a brother that struggled with addiction for many years and it wasn’t pretty – at all. But, I enjoyed the hope at the end of the book. And, I’m still looking forward to the next book in that series.

WHAT I’M READING NOW

I am loving Immortal Fire! Wuthering Heights is a reread and I’m buddy reading it. It definitely has a lot of issues to discuss. I’m still towards the beginning of The Night Circus and definitely enjoying it. I only just started Vanishing summer on my kindle after finishing my other kindle book, but it sucked me right in.

WHAT I’M READING NEXT

I’ll choose from one of these! The Night Circus and Wuthering Heights are the last two physical copies on my TBR for January. Wuthering Heights being a group read means I’m reading it at a slow pace. However, if I finish The Night Circus before the month is out, then I’ll pick up Ignite Me. I’m so addicted to the Shatter Me series!!! Forever Right Now and What the Wind knows are the last 2 kindle books on my TBR. I’m not sure which audiobook I’ll pick up after finishing Immortal Fire. I’ll start looking through the books available on hoopla and see what I can find.

What are you reading today?

Happy Reading,
Alison

  2. Addicted To You (and the whole series, really) was hard to read at times. Krista & Becca really showed how Lily and Lo’s addictions controlled their lives.

I hope you’ll enjoy Vanishing Summer. My heart really hurt for Everett and what he’d been through.

    • Yes, it was definitely hard to read, but it was interspersed with enough hope that I could get through it. I just finished Vanishing Summer yesterday. It was so good! I’m definitely looking forward to the next book.

  3. I hope you will enjoy The Night Circus! And I can’t definitely highly recommend What The Wind Knows. One of my absolute favorites last year! Have a wonderful week and happy reading. xx

    • I have been wanting to read it forever, too. The only problem is that I haven’t managed to find much reading time during the day lately, and it’s a physical copy so I have to read it during the day. I’m hoping to find some time at least maybe Saturday morning to make some progress with it.

  4. Yeah, Addicted to You was a tough read. Maybe the toughest in the series. I think you’re going to continue to like it as it goes along, though. It’s kind of like one continuous storyline between all of the books and it makes you love the characters even more.

    • I had to put a book dealing with addiction down last year because there was just too much despair. I couldn’t hold out till the happy ending. This one had enough good and hope to keep me wanting more.

  5. Glad to hear you really enjoyed Watchmaker’s Daughter! I still have to finish the series but I find it a little endless and overly drawn out now 😅 Hope you enjoy your current and future reads!
