Ali here ~
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

I’ve always been curious about L.J. Shen but for some reason have never felt the strong pull to pick up her books. I have a feeling that they’re too angsty for me maybe? But my curiosity keeps growing! Lol I hope you’re enjoying all your reads, Ali 🙂

This series is definitely high on the angst! I feel like a need a month of light and fluffy reads to recover!

All the best for your reading week, I couldn’t read more than two books at once – one would be on audio. I’ve heard of A Gentleman in Moscow but maybe not for me! Hope you are liking it.

A Gentleman in Moscow is definitely outside of my usual reads, but I am very much enjoying it. It’s a group read and there are so many great things to discuss about it.

Wow! You must have had an angst filled week last week. Both of those books are so emotional and dark.

Yes! And I need a break from the anxiety for a while. I can handle it in doses, but right now I think I need something light and funny. I’m just not sure what to pick up yet.

I still haven’t read anything by Shen but I’m curious to give her a try. Some of her books seem to elicit love it/hate it responses. I’m intrigued by Vicious and that seems to be one of the main love it/hate it books.

I haven’t read that yet, but I want to. I haven’t read a ton of Shen’s books, but so far my favorite has been The Kiss Thief and it’s really different from her other books that I’ve read.
