The Sunday Post ~ 3/22/20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Personal Highlights:

It’s been about a month since I’ve done a Sunday post. We went on vacation at the beginning of the month, and while we were on vacation the first coronavirus case was confirmed in New Orleans. By the time we got home the state was in chaos.

So, these vacation pics are a little overdue, but I’m wanting to reflect on happy things and I’m feeling super blessed that we got this vacation in when we did.

If you’re curious about where we were, these pics are all from Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. These are me and the hubs with our 3 kids. 🙂

This Week on the Blog:

Who knows?!?!? Not me! Things have been beyond a little crazy here and as of tomorrow our state will be on mandatory quarantine with the exception of essential jobs. We just honestly don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Staying positive and trusting God for whatever happens.

A Few Stats For This Week (Possible that these have increased since my last update):

I again have no idea. I haven’t really looked at stats in weeks but I know they’re way down. With so many people’s lives upended, people just aren’t able to spend as much time blogging and blog hopping. But that’s fine. We’re all doing what we have to do to get through this.

How was your week??? I’d love to know how you’re all doing in this mess. Community is important, and I’m hoping we can all keep each other pumped up to get through this!

Happy Reading,

  2. So glad you got the vacation when you did. If not then, who knows how long it would have been. And what gorgeous views you had. I agree that as a community we can hopefully help keep each other’s spirits up. We all need it.

    • Thanks! Yes, I’m soooo thankful that we got that vacation time in. While we’re definitely getting lots of family time right now, it was nice to be out and away from the house for a bit, and that’s definitely in short supply right now.

  3. Awesome pictures! Looks like you all had a great time 🙂
Everything is totally up in the air and it’s such an unsettling feeling. But I do feel better staying in and at home and I’ve been distancing myself from socials as well coz everyone’s news makes me so anxious! I have been sticking to blogging though. Hope you and the family continue to stay safe and healthy, Ali! Have a good week ahead ❤

    • We did have a great time. Thanks!! Social distancing is definitely wise right now. It’s mandatory here, so I don’t even have a choice in the matter. LOL! But, I’d be doing it either way. Hope you’re staying safe and well, too, and that you don’t let the anxiety take over! If you ever need to vent, I’m here!!

      • Yep, that’s what happens when you take entirely too long to shut down all the parades. It’s only been here 2 weeks and we’re already over 1000 cases, and that’s just with them just testing the very sick.

      • That’s crazy! They are only testing the very ill here, too. We have 1996 cases as of yesterday and 94 deaths. We’ve been out of school for a week now and social distancing for like 2.

      • We’re at 1388 cases and 46 deaths. The stupid thing is that we had Seattle and New York as major warnings for us before we got to this ridiculous point. Our governor cut everything down to no more than 50 people with our first case and that closed schools down, but people didn’t listen. Parades kept happening even on St. Patrick’s. Then we were cut down to no more than 10 people. Mandatory quarantine went into effect yesterday evening except for essential employees, grocery shopping and pharmacies.

      • Yes, the government really screwed Seattle over when they didn’t allow testing when they KNEW there were cases. We just got a stay at home order last night that starts as of tomorrow. We’ve been fairly locked down with social distancing for a couple of weeks, but we’ve surpassed 2000 cases and over 100 deaths. It’s freaking scary with the lack of PPE and stuff.
