Alison here ~
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

I DNFed Butterface. I just wasn’t sucked right in, and so I just decided to move on for now. I may end up picking it back up later. I am really enjoying listening to the Glass and Steele series. Flow was good and I’m looking forward to the rest of the story. Tweet Cute was just warm and gooey and everything awesome!

The Ten Thousand Doors of January and All the Stars and Teeth aren’t getting much attention but I haven’t decided to completely DNF them yet. I’m reading The Screwtape Letters just a little at a time because it’s a group read. I am thoroughly enjoying The Cruel Prince and I just began the 5th book in the Glass and Steele series. I’m really bummed because all the previous books in the series were free from the library, but I had to use an audible credit to pick up this 5th book. So, depending on where this one ends, it may be the last one I read for a while. I’m definitely limiting spending with all the financial chaos we’re all facing. I just made the decision to cancel KU and my Bookworm Box subscription for the time being. We’re fortunate enough to have a nice savings, but I am trying to put my oldest through college debt free at the moment. So, frugal it is.

My library hold just came through for this one, so I’m looking forward to picking it up next!
Happy Reading,

I’m glad you’re enjoying The Cruel Prince! It is one of my favourites. 🙂

Oof yeah, I haven’t picked up Butterface since I used the first line the other week but now I think I’m just going to leave it alone for the time being 😅 Glad to hear Tweet Cute was a win though! I really enjoyed the Steele & Glass series when I read it quite some time ago but I think I stopped on the fourth or fifth book because I felt by that point it was just dragging on and I was too impatient for answers 🤣 Happy reading, Ali!

Yes, Tweet Cute was a definite win! I definitely recommend it!! I am stopping after finishing the 5th book of Glass & Steele. That’s all my library apps had, but fortunately it was a good stopping point.

Too bad about the DNF. But I refuse to force myself to read books that aren’t working for me. I loved Echoes Between Us. There was one scene at the end that had me ugly crying.

I’ve heard so much about “The Ten Thousand Doors of January” that I put it on my tbr a while ago. Haven’t had a chance to read it yet, tell me how you liked it 🙂

It has a really slow start and I just couldn’t get into it right now. I’ll probably try again in the future when things aren’t so crazy. I’m an exceptionally moody reader right now. 🙂

I haven’t read Butterface yet. I have that one on my Kindle to read at some point. I did, however, read Muffin Top. It’s part of the same series and I wasn’t a fan. I do like her Ice Knights series, though.
