April 2020 Monthly Wrap-Up

As I already mentioned, I didn’t do so great with my April TBR. But, that’s just fine with me! I still made my way through quite a stack of books!

I finished two of these. I didn’t write a review for A Man Called Ove, but I have to say that I absolutely loved this story! 5 Stars!

I also finished Wild at Heart. You can catch my review HERE.

I couldn’t find The One on any library apps, so no dice there.

I’m 59% into Shadow of the Fox, and despite things not meshing yet in the first 20%, I am now loving the book!

Flow is the only book I finished out of these 4. I gave it 4 stars. I am on pg. 114 out of 373 in All the Stars and Teeth. I have moved from just okay to enjoyment with it, but I wouldn’t say much more than that at this point. I didn’t pick up Muse of Nightmares. I keep managing to put it off. I’m assuming it’s going to be on the slow side like the first book. And while I still very much enjoyed the first book, I just need a faster pace right now. And as for Tangled, I unfortunately couldn’t get it because it was already checked out. It’s now available through hoopla, so maybe I can squeeze it in this month.

I adored The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. 4.5 Stars! I am 2 for 2 with Zapata’s books and definitely looking to read more from her! I didn’t read The Hiding Place because I thought it might just be a bit heavy for me right now. I didn’t get to Fallen Fourth Down or Major Misconduct but I’m hoping to squeeze them in in May. We’ll see!

I didn’t get to any of these either, but I did at least purchase Master of Revenge, so that’s a step in the right direction! Again, maybe I can get to these this month. Wishful thinking!!

Now, here’s a list of other books I read this month ~

The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren
The Mapmaker’s Apprentice by C.J. Archer
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
The Apothecary’s Poison by C.J. Archer
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
The Magician’s Diary by C.J. Archer
The Convent’s Secret by C.J. Archer
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Echoes Between Us by Katie McGarry
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren

I read a total of 19 books in April. So, while I didn’t stick much to the TBR, I certainly made my way through some books. And my favorite book this month wasn’t even on the TBR, so again, I’m glad I didn’t stick to it. What was my favorite?

This book was just everything I am wanting right now! It was so perfect, that I wouldn’t put it past myself to pick it right back up! It’s just one of those books.

What was your favorite read in April??

Happy Reading,
Alison

  1. I’ve heard amazing things about A Man Called Ove but for some reason it’s just never called to me. Glad you enjoyed Flow and hopefully you’ll enjoy Tangled, too. (Drew could be a jerk but I still couldn’t help pulling for him. LOL) Hopefully you can get to Play this month. It was my favorite of the Stage Dive series. 🙂

    • I was the same with A Man Called Ove, but then ended up picking it up for a group read. So glad I did! I am so looking forward to both Tangled and Play. I really hope I can get to them soon!

And of course, The Hating Game is one of my faves. You read so many great books in April! Hope May is just as amazing for you 😀
