Alison here ~
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
WHAT I READ LAST WEEK (Since WWW)
I wasn’t crazy about this one. It was just a 2 1/2 star read for me. It was part of a group read, though, and I did enjoy the discussions we had.
WHAT I’M READING NOW
As I’m typing this, I haven’t yet began The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, but I’m definitely looking forward to it. It’s my next group read. I’m still moving along in The Screwtape Letters, which is also a group read. I love some of the letters and others not so much.
I have had mixed feelings about Dating You Hating You. Right now it’s just an okay read for me. Sorry Deanna! I still appreciate the rec. Keep them coming!!
I am very much enjoying House of Earth and Blood! There is so much world building going on, but I’m very much loving that character connections are being made right up front, so it doesn’t feel drab as we’re getting the great big picture. I’m close to 3/4 of the way through Lord of Shadows. I’m excited and nervous about what the end has in store. And I’m looking forward to the next book!! The last handful of chapters in All the Stars and Teeth have been pretty interesting, so I’m intrigued with what’s next. And I’m absolutely loving Shadow of the Fox! So glad this book picked up!!
WHAT I’M READING NEXT
I thought I would have already started The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, but I’m holding out till I finish at least one more book first.
