Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope your week has gotten off to a good start! Today’s Top Ten topic is The Last Ten Books I Abandoned. I actually DNF’ed a couple books last month due to being a very picky reader at the moment. But, this isn’t something I do often. It was probably 6 months ago since I DNF’ed a book before that. So, I’m going to go with an altogether different topic today! April Showers Bring May Flowers!!! I’m sharing 10 books I’ve enjoyed that have flowers on the cover!
The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
This is one for you contemporary romance fans.
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
This is a fun rom-com!
Violent Delights by Jessica Hawkins
This is one for those of you that like your romance on the edgier side. She’s a princess among criminals!
The Wish Collector by Mia Sheridan
If you read my blog on a steady basis, you probably already know that I absolutely love this story. It reminds me of Beauty and the Beast in the best possible way. It’s not a Beauty and the Beast retelling, so don’t get the wrong idea. 😉
Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
This is one for the historical fiction romance fans. It’s part of a series, but it works as a standalone. It will have you wanting to start at the beginning of the series, though.
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
Here’s one for YA contemporary romance fans.
Full Tilt by Emma Scott
This is one that will pack an emotional punch, and I only recommend if you’re up for shedding some tears. WARNING ~ You’ll have to finish the duology to get your HEA.
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
Enjoyed it definitely the wrong word for this one. Necessary is probably the right word.
The Will by Kristen Ashley
I’m not a huge Kristen Ashley fan like my bestie is, but I did enjoy this one.
Afterlife Academy by Jaimie Admans
And this is one for you YA PNR fans!
Are you a big DNF’er?? I totally recommend DNF’ing for reading enjoyment, but I’m usually pretty good at picking out books I’ll like.
Happy Reading,
Alison

I love your take on this! I am not a big dnfer but it does happen where I just can’t get into a book. Great list!

Thanks! I’m definitely not scared to DNF, but fortunately I don’t feel the need to do it often, so it would have really sent me back trying to figure out my last 10 DNFs. LOL!

I’m defo not a DNF’er but there are books I wish I DNF’d? It’s just so hard to! I just feel guilty and a little bit of FOMO because what if it gets better?! So I usually push through… Lol I’m feeling in a bit of a romance mood so maybe I’ll finally pick up Violent Delights properly! I really need to read It Ends With Us too coz everyone seems to love it 🤣

If you’re looking for a romance then I wouldn’t suggest It Ends With Us. While there are romantic elements, the story is really about overcoming abuse and that’s at the heart of it. Violent Delights is good if you’re looking for some cartel type romance. It’s gritty and angsty. I used to look at DNFs the same way. I managed to flip my thinking to fear that I’d be missing out on more good books if I wasted my time with the bad ones. But, I try not to DNF books that so many people are talking about because I enjoy the discussions, even if I didn’t enjoy the book. Or, if a lot of people love the book, then I try to hold out thinking it’ll pick up, or be worth it in the end.

I love a good floral cover, and I have actually read 5 of these. Unhoneymooners and Bromance are favorites, and I loved Everything Everything too. Full Tilt and It Ends with Us were ugly cry books. The tears!

I have several CoHo books on my shelves, but I don’t own a physical copy of that one. It is a pretty cover!
