*****My Review*****
This part of the review for the most part will cover my thoughts for the first 85% of the book or so. And then things took a turn, but I’ll address that soon. Okay, so I really enjoyed the growth I was seeing in Mason’s character. He seemed to have matured so much and was looking to stay away from any drama. He allowed himself a couple times to be sucked into Marissa’s junk, but for the most part, he even seemed to be making level headed decisions concerning her.
Sam on the other hand hadn’t made the leaps that Mason had made, but I was seeing some growth. And it’s expected that her growth would be a lot slower considering all she’s been through. I enjoyed seeing the reconnection between her and David and Mark’s mom. I did hope to see more of a sibling bond forming between her and Mark after some scenes of them together in previous books, but that was okay. I didn’t get her making such a big issue about Logan potentially having feelings for her, but I understood that she hasn’t been able to rely on anyone and is just scared of losing Logan and Mason.
There were some really angsty moments, but they didn’t last long and I loved how they were resolved. But, when everything came to a head and all the secrets were out, I honestly got quite ticked on Sam’s behalf. And, my opinion of the book as a whole fell drastically. I’ll warn you here that the rest of this will be VERY spoilery, so stop reading here if you don’t want any spoilers.
***SPOILER ALERT!!!***
First, why was Logan pissed at her for not telling him? That’s just awkward for one, and she was hoping to avoid unnecessary drama and splitting their threesome up. I can totally get Logan being upset, especially knowing that he didn’t want to start anything with her and things could have been cleared up and avoided. But I didn’t get him being pissed off. And then when they get to the hospital and Mason gets pissed at her?!? And then he tells her that it’s her DUTY to go talk to Marissa?!? HELL to the NO. Mason just REALLY pissed me off there. Sam didn’t have the first thing to do with Marissa. And Marissa was trying to steal Mason away! Mason’s reaction there to Sam, as if it was all her fault, just really irked me. No, Marissa didn’t deserve to get hit by a car, but that didn’t absolve Marissa from the damage she was trying to inflict on them. And one other point, if Logan had been in love with Sam, that wouldn’t have been Sam’s fault, and Mason sure shouldn’t have taken it out on her. It especially didn’t make sense with him overhearing her telling Logan that he didn’t love her.
I also hated the way Mason decided to handle things with Nate’s frat buddies. Mason had seemed to be trying to make wise decisions up to that point and then just did a complete one-eighty. I was bummed. SUPER bummed.
SPOILER OVER
After the ending that just really bummed me, I dropped my rating down to 3 1/2 stars.
For those of you that have read this series and see how I felt about that ending, do you think I should just put down this series, or do you think I’d be happy with the way things move on from here?
Happy Reading,
Alison

I think you should keep reading. Sam grows a lot over the next few books. So do the boys. They get older and stuff changes. I get your frustrations, though.
