The Sunday Post ~ 6/14/20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Personal Highlights:

This week we had our nice little getaway to the lake. We were a little nervous that we were going to be drenched the whole time from the storm in the gulf, but fortunately it went east of us. We only got some sprinkles out of the deal. So, we had some nice weather and I got a little too much sun.  This is a pic of the nice anniversary meal the hubs made for us: shrimp, lobster, corn, and potatoes. Can’t you tell that my youngest two just love when I take pictures of them without asking first. LOL!

    • Glad you loved Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes! I’m looking forward to picking it up soon. And I hear ya! Despite getting through 4 books, I’ve still found my reading to be off. With so much going on in the world it can be hard escaping into a book, but it is always so worth the stress relief when I can!

    • Thanks!! Me, too!! And my hubs certainly did fantastic with our dinner! I was very disappointed after the last couple Shatter Me books, so I was so pleasantly surprised and pleased with this one. Now I’m scared to read the next one, though! LOL!

  1. Looks like you had a great week 🥰I hope you’re doing well love. I had a good week too. Tiring, a little, but still good. I’ve heard so much about
Tehereh Mafi’s series and I’d read the first book a long while ago when it had first released but lost touch with it. I should probably start it up huh? My reading’s taken a bit of a hit. I’m Currently reading When Dreams Descend and i don’t know why despite it being interesting I’m finding it hard to persevere.

    • The Shatter Me series has been a bunch of hits and misses for me. Fortunately Defy Me was a hit. I know there’s so much craziness in the world right now that we’re all dealing with, and that can definitely make it hard to concentrate on a book. I found myself DNFing 3 audiobooks this week because I couldn’t deal with the narrators, and that’s very unusual for me. I do hope you soon find it easier to escape into a book!!

  2. Omg, that meal looks delicious and my mouth is watering just thinking about it 🤤 Sounds like you had a great time by the lake and I’m glad for you and the family that you only got some small showers instead of being drenched! Looks like such a pretty place! Hope you have a great week ahead ❤

    • Thanks! And yes, he did fantastic with dinner! I had a few books in a row of the Shatter Me series that I didn’t enjoy, but I really felt like things were back on a great track with Defy Me. It was so good that I’m now scared to pick up the next book. LOL!
