#SixforSunday is hosted by Steph at A Little But A Lot. Every week there is a bookish-themed prompt to inspire 6 choices.
Today’s topic is Tropes You Love.
There are so many different tropes out there and if done well, I can pretty much enjoy them all, but here are just six that I really enjoy.
Best Friends-to-Lovers

All of the tropes here are ones that I enjoy, but this trope has a special place in my heart. Lost & Found is one of my favorite books with this trope, if only I could delete the last page. And Beautiful Disaster is for sure one of my all-time faves!
Forbidden Relationships

The forbidden relationship trope can be tricky to pull off sometimes – especially when it comes to Student/Teacher relationships. That’s an area that a lot of readers just want to steer clear of. CoHo’s series handles it so perfectly, though!! And Lady Midnight is perfect for fantasy lovers that enjoy the trope!
Fake Relationships
This rom com is the perfect fake relationship story for those of you that love stories embracing southern lifestyles, manners, and humor.
Enemies-to-Lovers

This Hating Game is one of my most recent faves! I already can’t wait to read it again!! And P&P has, of course, been a long-time fave!
Roommates

There are so many great books out there for this trope!! These are just a few that I love!
My Brother’s Best Friend

Both of these were so much fun!!
What are your favorite tropes?
Happy Reading,

I love all of these except maybe forbidden — it depends on the type of forbidden relationship.

That’s honestly the case for all of these with me. There are definitely scenarios with each of these that don’t work for me. Sam had mentioned not caring for the best friend’s dad scenario and I definitely have to agree with her.

Hmm… I don’t know if I would mind the best friend’s dad or not. If it’s when they are adults, then it might not bug me. But if I think hard enough about it, it does!

Yeah, I think it might be too hard for me to block my own thoughts out. But, I guess I shouldn’t say never.

I not a big fan of fake relationships or enemies to lovers – and I actually tend to avoid books that I know have those tropes. But I love the rest! Friends to lovers is a favorite and so are forbidden relationships.

I do have to say that friends to lovers is my all-time fave!

Friends-to-lovers is my favorite along with second chance romance. I like the history element they bring with them. I guess some of these others have history too (brothers best friend, enemies to lovers, roommate), and I tend to like those books as well. Heck! I sort of love them all. Except teacher-student. Hate that! And I DNFed one that was the best friend’s dad. Ewww.

LOL! I LOVED Hoover’s Slammed series and it was student-teacher, but it was handled so well. So, I can’t say never with that scenario. However, I am with you on not enjoying the best friend’s dad.

I was ok with Slammed, because he was a student teacher and the age was close. It’s the ones where there is a big age difference. I was teacher, it’s weird for me.

Yes, I totally get that!
