It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Personal Highlights:
The highlight this week was celebrating my daughter’s birthday. For about 9 months I’ll have 3 teenagers. But, then my oldest will be leaving his teen years behind. These are bittersweet years preparing them to go off into the world. But I am so very blessed!
My oldest was awarded a $500 scholarship this week from a local group dealing with water and soil conservation, so that was another highlight this week, especially since I’ve been paying completely out-of-pocket for his school.

Congrats to your son (and you!) on that scholarship. What a great recognition. I bet having 3 teenagers keeps you busy!
I’ve heard that Ice Barbarians series is addictive!

Thanks! I don’t know what it is about the Ice Planet Barbarians. The writing was not the best, but it’s definitely addictive and I want to read more of the series. LOL!

Happy birthday to your daughter and congrats to your son! # teens in the house! Whew! Hats of to you! I haven’t read Written in Red and Becoming Mrs. Lewis but they sound interesting! My favorite books this week were Court of Bitter Thorn by Kay L. Moody and Accidentally in Love by Belinda Missen. Oh, I also read an extended excerpt of Shyhunter by Marie Lu, and it was excellent!

Ha! Thanks! I really have to say that my experience with teens is quite mild in comparison to the norm, so I feel blessed for sure. Court of Bitter Thorn sounds fantastic! I added it to my TBR.

I enjoyed it. I read the Elements of Kamdaria series by Kay Moody a few months back and loved it. She’s one of my new faves for YA fantasy. 🙂

I have that series on my TBR, too. I really need to give her books a try!

Congratulations to you son! How wonderful! I felt like I was the only person not giving the Voting Booth all the stars. I actually DNFed, and I have really enjoyed Colbert’s books in the past, but it just didn’t work for me.

Well, I only gave it 3 1/2, so you’re not the only one not giving it all the stars. There were a few things that I had issues with, and I almost put the book down myself in the beginning. But, it had just enough to keep me interested. It rode that fence for me, though.
