Happy Thursday! And thanks so much to Syl at Syl Unlimited for tagging me! Y’all be sure to go check out her blog! I did a little digging, but I couldn’t find the creator of this tag, so if you know let me know so I can give credit where it’s due.
1.) What book has been on your shelf the longest?
There are multiple ways to answer this question, but I’m going to go with my Goodreads TBR. I cleaned out my Goodreads TBR a while back, so the oldest book isn’t all that old.
And now that I’ve finished The Illuminae Files, I’m looking forward to this series!
2.) What is your current read, your last read, and the book you’ll read next?
Currents Reads ~

Last Read ~
Next Read ~
This is just one of many possibilities.
3.) What book did everyone like, but you hated?
Hmm. I definitely have to say that hate is too strong a word for me. I don’t recall hating a whole book before. But, there have definitely been books that I didn’t love as much as everyone else seemed to. Here’s one ~
I’m a huge sucker for romance, and I so wanted one to develop in this story, or at least a stronger hint of one. Again, though, I have to remind you that I didn’t by any means hate the book and I still want to finish the series at some point.
4.) What book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t?
I don’t think there is a book that I could honestly say this about. There are certainly some books that I have put off, but I always seem to eventually get to those books.
5.) Last page: read it first, or wait until the end?
Anna, oh Anna, my bestie, this one is for you! You must not be the only one out there crazy enough to ruin a book by reading the ending first. The end is the end for a reason! LOL!
6.) Acknowledgments: waste of paper and ink, or interesting aside?
I don’t read the acknowledgments every single time, but I do read them often, and have even been shocked to find my name or blog mentioned in a few of them. If I didn’t read the acknowledgments I would have totally missed this awesomeness!
7.) Which book character would you switch places with?
I actually love my life and wouldn’t trade it for anything – not that it’s by any means perfect. But, just for fun, let me go with…well, nope, I can’t think of anyone. LOL!
8.) Which book has been with you the most places?
Besides the Bible, I would have to say ~
I loved this series so much that for years whenever I traveled anywhere I would always take this book. I used to make the trip down to New Orleans on a regular basis since my mom and grandparents lived down there. My kids were little and I usually couldn’t squeeze in a lot of reading time, but I could pick this book up at any point and be immediately sucked in. It was always the perfect escape and helped me recharge for my kids.
9.) Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take?
I don’t think I have ever came across anyone whose book likes and dislikes are exactly like mine. But, my own dislikes and likes aren’t exactly like my own. I know that doesn’t make sense. My point, though, is that my reading likes and dislikes change with my moods. So, I may not enjoy a book one day and love it on another day.
Nevertheless, I do enjoy seeing what my 2 besties have loved. We get together at my house every 1 to 3 weeks and have great book discussions. And, I also love seeing what all the bloggers I follow are loving.
10.) Is there a book out of your comfort zone that you ended up loving?
Horror is the only thing that comes to mind when I think of my comfort zone with books. I love paranormal, but when things start to shift a little too close to the edge, I turn into a chicken.
Echoes Between Us is paranormal, but I have to say that there was one scene in particular that definitely had me thinking it was skating a bit close to horrorville. LOL! I absolutely love this book, though!!
I Tag…anyone that wants to participate! Send me a link and I’ll add you to the post. Reminder, though, I may be MIA for a little bit with the hurricane coming through.
Happy Reading,
Alison
Oh, I love your answers 💕
I can’t believe you found your name & blog in acknowledgements! This is so awesome !!
Also, I think it’s funny that you love Twilight so much,- I have never read Twilight !! I watched the first movie and I cringed so much that I kind of refused to read the books hahah But maybe I should give the series another chance!
Let me know what you think of Heart Bones once you’re done, because I recently finished it and am curious to hear your thoughts 💕

When I watched the first movie I cringed, too. LOL! But, then I ended up liking them later. I can honestly say that if I read Twilight for the first time now, I probably wouldn’t enjoy it so much. For me, nostalgia plays a big role in it. I’ll definitely let everyone know what I think about Heart Bones! I’m looking forward to it!!

It’s cool that you’ve found yourself in acknowledgements. That’s never happened to me. I do always read the acknowledgments though, because I like knowing which authors hang out together. 🙂

It has only happened a few times, but definitely awesome!! I have found that sometimes the acknowledgments can be as entertaining as the stories. And yeah, it’s cool to see which authors are hanging out and supporting each other!

If Aurora Rising is your oldest shelf book – good job! It’s not even that old. I was bit worried about the McGarry book, because I don’t really read paranormals any more, but I loved it.

There are definitely books that are older than Aurora Rising on my TBR, but I placed Aurora Rising on my TBR before them. But, I did clear out my TBR a while back and started over, so I can’t take much credit here. LOL! And McGarry’s book was definitely awesome!

Twilight is one of my favorites too. And I occasionally read the end first…..but I’m really trying to break that habit, lol. Great tag!

Love that I’m not the only Twilight fan left! My friend reads the end because her anxiety gets the best of her when she doesn’t. Is it the same for you, or do you have a different reason? Just curious. LOL! And thanks!!

No, normally it is when I am undecided on whether I’ll read/finish a book. The ending can make it or break it for me sometimes, lol.

LOL! Yes, I can totally understand that! I’ve definitely asked people to just tell me whether a book had a happy ending or not. I didn’t want any other details, though.

Lol, yeah I do that too. My friends know better than to recommend books with sad endings to me 😁

Ha! I can handle a sad book on occasion, but not on a regular basis. And, I definitely want to know going into it that it’s going to be sad.

Great answers! I have a colleague who horrified me when she said she always reads the last chapter first before starting the book because then if she never gets around to finishing the book she’ll at least know how it ends 😂 I nearly wept LOL Aurora Rising is so much fun! I hope you enjoy it 😀

LOL! My friend has a very anxious personality and literally can’t handle the tension if she doesn’t know how things will work out. I’m definitely looking forward to Aurora Rising!

So glad to hear you are all safe!
We don’t have hurricanes where I live, but I can imagine how horrible it must be!

Thanks so much! I live at the top of Louisiana. This is the first time in history that a hurricane was still classified as a hurricane when it hit us. The wind was insane.
