#IMWAYR ~ 8/31/20

Alison here ~

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Hurricane Season wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t love the characters and it was lacking in plot.

Reborn Yesterday was interesting. It felt a little like a knock-off Twilight and the writing didn’t seem up to the usual for Tessa’s books, but it still had an addictive quality that kept me from being able to put it down.

Yes, I’m reading 6 different books right now. I’m just in a weird reading mood right now. But, after I started Vision in Silver last night it immediately grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. So, I foresee finishing it before I start anything else. Don’t get me wrong, though. I am enjoying all of the other books. I wasn’t picking up more because they weren’t good. It’s just the weird mood. And, no, I don’t have any trouble keeping these books straight. LOL!

These are some of the possibilities that I already have downloaded, but who knows.

Happy Reading,

  2. So happy you like the Others series so far! The other books in the series are just as easy to read. Also, The Turn of the Key sounds so good! I the read the original Henry James “Turn of the Screw” and absolutely loved it; the Turn of the Key sounds like a really fun and modern twist. Happy reading!

      • Turn of the Screw is a pretty old novella from Henry James (think 1890s?) but definitely worth the read! A lot of spinoffs have happened recently from it, just showing its awesome staying power. I would call it more spooky than horror (they label it as a gothic). There is actually a movie coming out this year called the Turning that is in the same vein.

  3. Totally get your weird mood because I’m right there with you. After finishing my book last night I don’t know what to read. Tried picking up some fantasy coz that’s what my mood seems to be nudging me towards but nothing is catching. Eugh 🙄 Hope you continue enjoying your reads and have a great week ahead!

    • It is so hard to describe my mood right now. I have been enjoying all the books I’ve been picking up. I have just been wanting to read all the books at once, though. Yes, I know this sounds like madness! LOL!
