WWW Wednesday ~ 9/16/20

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a fabulous hump day. My week has been fairly uneventful, which is always a plus for me!!

I finished both of these yesterday. Drive Me Wild was addictive from the get go and I found myself flying through it. The one big negative for me, though, were the sex scenes in it. They were a bit too much on the forceful/rough side and just left me feeling yuck. Without those scenes I would have probably given it 5 stars because I adored everything else about the small town and its characters.

Hot Mess had a slow start for me, but it was one of those books that gradually grew on me as I progressed through it. It’s a light, fun read despite the fact that the MC is dealing with a heavy topic (revenge porn).

Or possibly something else…

What are your WWWs today???

Happy Reading,

    • Thanks! Right now Marked in Flesh is definitely consuming most of my reading time in the evenings. I’ve really been enjoying listening to My Dear Hamilton during the day, too. I’ve only just begun Every Last Breath, but I fully expect it to take over once I finish Marked in Flesh.

    • I am enjoying it, but I do think it really helps understanding what the book is about ahead of time. A lot of people didn’t seem to understand that it’s President Snow’s backstory, which we already know doesn’t have a happy ending. So, of course it lacks the hopeful romance of the original trilogy, which was the main appeal for so many with the first books.

  1. Ooh, so many books that I’m keen to read on here and that have been on my TBR for a while as well. Did you enjoy Avery Flynn’s book? I’ve had that one on my Kindle for ages now and I don’t know why I haven’t picked it up yet 😒 Also so keen to check out Charming as a Verb! Happy reading, Ali! ❤️

    • I’m still reading Parental Guidance, but I am enjoying it. I think I’m going to put down the audiobook, though, and read it on kindle. I am confused about a couple things, and I think it’s just because I missed some details while listening. I’m enjoying Charming as a Verb!

    • For me it’s the same as watching different TV series. For some I have to be in the mood to pick them up, and for others I get consumed and put all other books down until I’m finished that particular one. LOL!

  2. This looks like a wonderfully varied reading list! I was obsessed with The Hunger Games as a teenager but haven’t got around to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes yet – I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Happy reading! 📚❤️ X x x

    • Yes, I definitely enjoy a variety. The new HG book has been a solid read so far. I’m curious about what’s ahead. I’ve seen a lot of complaints, but it also seems that a lot of people didn’t realize this was about President Snow. I definitely don’t have the love for it that I had for the original trilogy, but I was all about the romance in those books.

    • It really does have a pretty color, and I have an OwlCrate edition which is super pretty! I’m on book 4 now of the Others and I’m still very much enjoying it! I’ll for sure be continuing with it! Happy Reading!!
