WordPress Disaster

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!

I have been fighting a migraine for the last several days, and it’s not been fun. It’s a little better today than it was yesterday, so I thought I would try to put up a quick post. That’s not to be the case, though. WordPress just changed my stuff over to a new editor, and I don’t have a fat clue how to use any of it. I’m sure when my eyes aren’t killing me, and I can spend some time doing some research, that I’ll figure it out. In the meanwhile, all I can manage is a simple post like this. Bummer!

Hope to be back soon!!
Happy Reading,
Alison

    • I was able to use the classic editor for a while after the initial change, but now mine has been converted to where I have to use blocks. They do have a classic block editor, though. However, I have now found it simpler to stay away from that specific block. I’m slowly learning, but I have a ways to go. I would definitely suggest that you start playing with the block editor so it doesn’t completely overwhelm you later when you have to.

  1. The new editor hit mine a little while ago and I HATE it! The option to pick font sizes for headers in the right-hand menu is gone and the pop-up tools bar for one element gets in my way trying to click the bottom of the previous element ALL the time. Plus the symbols for some of the elements changed and I don’t understand why that was necessary, but it took a minute to stop looking for the thing that was right in front of my face because it wasn’t the icon I was expecting.

  2. Oh no, migraines are absolutely the worst! I hope you feel better soon, Ali ❤️ I’m guessing you’ve just been switched over to the new editor? I’ve been using it since I started blogging so if you have a question about anything maybe I can help 🙂 Take care!

    • Thanks! I’m finally on the other side of it! This is the worst one I’ve had as an adult. I had horrific ones in my teen years, but they have been milder in the last 10 years or so, but this was a whopper!

  3. Sorry about the headache. That’s horrible!
Don’t freak about the block editor. I have been using it for a long time. I would recommend using the WP-Admin and switching the block to “classic”. That should make things easier and almost like normal.

    • Thanks! It has been horrible! Today is the first day in a while that I’ve felt well enough to look at the screen long enough to respond to comments and blog hop. I’ll definitely have to check for the “classic” block!! Thanks for that!!
