#IMWAYR ~ 12/21/20

Happy Monday! I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend! I just got back from the Cancer Center. If all continues going well, we are done for the rest of this year and don’t have to go back for 3 more weeks. It’s almost like I don’t know what to do with myself now.

Tomorrow my hubs and his dad are going fishing. Just a few weeks ago we didn’t even think he’d make it to Christmas and now he’s feeling well enough to go fishing! Such a blessing! We know this cancer will ultimately be a death sentence, but we’re so grateful that he’s having a little more time to enjoy life here with us.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

(Since my last post)

This brings my reading total to 213. That’s the most I’ve ever read in one year!

Yes, I realize I have a LOT of books going right now…I really don’t know what to say about that except that it takes a LOT to grab my attention these days. I read little bits of each and keep adding in new ones. I continue on with that until something grabs my attention, and I can’t put a book down.

These are just a few of the ones I have waiting on my kindle right now. Who knows what I’ll actually pick up next???

Happy Reading,

  1. 213 is amazing, Ali! 😱 I loved Nevernight, Tourist Attraction and One Day in December (this one really won my hopeless romantic heart lol)! I can’t wait to read Hollowpox and I’m also really keen to check out the Southern Book Club’s Guide! Sounds so good. Hope you and your family manage to enjoy the holiday season and Merry Christmas for tomorrow! 🥰

    • Thanks, Dini!! I’m listening to Nevernight, and I’m feeling like I should probably be reading it instead. I think I’m missing too much. But I’m definitely enjoying it. One Day in December definitely tugs on the heartstrings!! I only had a little bit of Hollowpox left and then my library loan was up. Boo! So, now I’m waiting on another hold so I can finish it. The Southern Book Club’s Guide has been interesting! I’m really enjoying the audiobook! Thanks for the holiday wishes! We had a fantastic Christmas. Happy New Year!

    • Yes! It really is a great gift that we weren’t anticipating. One Day in December has me scared with the whole triangle thing, but everyone keeps saying it’s awesome, so I’m pushing through!

  2. Enjoy the time you have!!

Also, love how many books you are currently reading. I listened to Still Life and enjoyed it but wasn’t wowed by it, but nevertheless I continued and I’m currently on book 6. Loved Under Currents, but NR standalone books are often my favorites. And if you enjoy audiobooks, the Harry Potter audiobooks are the BEST I have ever listened to. The experience is even better than regular reading. Can only recommend it! Happy reading 😀

    • Thanks!! Hmm. I might have to switch over to the audiobook on HP then! I had another friend tell me she loved the audiobooks. The way you described Still Life is pretty much how I’m feeling about it. The first bit of Under Currents has had me cringing a little (graphic). I’m intending to push through, though!
