WWW Wednesday 1/6/21

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

Happy Wednesday! I hope y’alls week has been going well!!

Things have been calm and cool here. We’ve been taking down the last of our Christmas decorations. This week is back to school for us. We usually start our homeschooling year a little early so we can take a nice chunk of time off for the holidays. But, the break is coming to an end.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think youโ€™ll read next?

I anticipate wrapping up The Giver today. And that’ll knock me down to 14 books, but who knows if I’ll add in another one or not. I’m waiting on another hold on a few of these after taking too long to read them the first go around. That wasn’t necessarily because they weren’t good. The holidays just left me with little time on my hands for reading.

I absolutely loved Only When It’s Us, and I can’t wait to read the next book. Debt Inheritance…not so much.

These are just a few of the many options I have sitting and waiting on me. Who knows what I’ll pick up next!

What are your WWW’s today???

Happy Reading,

  1. Wooh, that’s a lotta books ๐Ÿ˜‚ How do you manage to juggle them all? I’m looking forward to picking up These Violent Delights. It keeps taunting me from my bookshelf but I have to prioritise my blog tour reads! But I really hope to read it soon ๐Ÿ˜Š I hope you’re enjoying it! Also, I hope you enjoy Chloe Liese’s next book in the Bergman Brothers series. I think I might’ve loved it even more than Only When It’s Us?! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Happy reading, Ali!

    • Juggling would imply that I am flowing along smoothly, which I am not. LOL! I just pick up with whatever I’m in the mood for. There is no rhyme or reason to my madness. I am sooo enjoying These Violent Delights! I’m only close to 60 pages in, though, so I can’t comment on the book as a whole. I have just thoroughly enjoyed the set up so to speak – historical 1920s Shanghai with rival opium gangs. The heirs of the 2 gangs are Juliette and Roma (Romeo and Juliet) and they have some history and tension going on. And there’s a mysterious “monster” on the loose. Fingers crossed the rest of the book continues as well as it’s started!! Soooo happy to hear that the second Bergman Brothers book is awesome as well! Definitely looking forward to it!!!

  2. I am refusing to take down my Christmas decorations until my Gran is vaccinated ๐Ÿ˜‚

I’m currently reading 4 books – Rebel Of The Sands, Les Miserables, Five Total Strangers and Girls In Love. Quite a mix!

    • LOL! I had really hoped to read Rebel of the Sands last year, but I just didn’t get to it. Maybe this year. I absolutely LOVED Les Mis! It’s long and a lot boring in many places, but there are so many hidden gems in it and THAT ENDING!!! Hope you’re enjoying them all!

    • I am really enjoying These Violent Delights. It comes off historical fiction from the start – 1920s Shanghai gangs fighting over politics and opium dealing. Then add in the two heirs of the gangs have a Romeo & Juliet thing happening. And then add in that there’s this mysterious “monster” that’s killing people. I’m only about 60 pgs in at this point, but it has my attention for sure.

    • I read The Cruel Prince last year and then waited entirely too long to pick up The Wicked King. I finally started it last night after finishing The Debt Inheritance. Can’t wait to start Spoiler Alert!!

  3. I havenโ€™t finished anything yet this year but I have started four different books. Iโ€™m currently reading Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery, A Map for Wrecked Girls by Jessica Taylor, The Dead Zone by Stephen King and Legally Blind Luck by James J. Cudney. Iโ€™m really not all that far into any of them except for Anne Iโ€™m about halfway through it and Iโ€™ve been enjoying this series but it does have its faults.
