The Sunday Post & IMWAYR

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

For the second week in a row I’m combining Sunday and Monday’s post. Yesterday was just busy.

Highlights/Happenings

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day. My oldest son had a disc golf tournament that morning/afternoon. Him and his best friend teamed up because it was a buddy tournament, and they won. It was only their second time to compete, so we were super excited. Because of the tournament we waited until that evening to go out to eat for Mother’s Day. We went to a nice restaurant out on Caddo Lake that we love. We get to sit outside on picnic tables and eat on the edge of the water. We love it for the view, but the food is always good, too!

The rest of the week was spent mostly on working on the room move for my daughter. We got a lot done this week, but it’ll definitely be an ongoing project. This involves moving almost my entire library. In a few weeks, my mother is going to help me to build new bookshelves in the new library.

Then Saturday we had a graduation and graduation party for a close family friend. My husband boiled crawfish for everyone. Yummy! And he put our son(s) [obviously our oldest son wasn’t working too hard…LOL!] to work ~

I finally got to start watching Shadow and Bone! I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes so far, but I loved them. The only other show I watched this week was The Voice. I did watch a couple movies on Friday, though. It was our end of the school year celebration and everyone agreed they wanted pizza and movies to celebrate. We watched Jojo Rabbit and Lion King 1 1/2.

And I got in a few board games this week: Splendor, Rajas of the Ganges (left pic), and Quacks of Quedlinburg (right pic).

What I Read Last Week

Book of the Week

I took An Ember in the Ashes out of the running since it was a reread. I absolutely loved Dance of Thieves and can’t wait to read the sequel! It was a great reading week. I really enjoyed all of my reads.

Currently Reading

I will probably finish We Hunt the Flame today.

What I’m Reading Next

Possibly one of these?

What’s going on this week?

My daughter and I will continue to work on the room moves this week. My oldest has finals this week. This weekend I’m going on a little hiking trip in Arkansas with my besties, while my hubby goes with their husbands to watch a couple Texas Rangers games. My kids are going to be enjoying the weekend with my mom. They have some fun things planned for the weekend, too.

How was your week? Any exciting upcoming plans?

Happy Reading,

Alison

  1. So much fun stuff going on by you. I loved playing board games, but I have nobody to play with any longer. Those look like fun. Good luck with the library! Can’t wait to see the finished product.

    • Aww, I wonder how it’ll be after my kids are all out of the house. I’m sure whenever they come back to visit we’ll squeeze in games because it’s one of our favorite things to do together. But, I always enjoy getting lost in books, too. I’ll definitely share some pics of the library after we get it finished.

  2. Glad you had a great week! I need to play more board games with my daughter and husband. I know we will play some this weekend when we go to my husband’s mom house. You also had a fantastic reading week! So many high ratings! ❤ Hope your week is off to a good start.

    • Thanks!! I have always enjoyed board games, but my oldest son is a fanatic and is always acquiring new games that I’ve never heard of. We love playing games, though. It’s a fantastic way to spend time with my kids unplugged. I did really have a great reading week! Hope you have a great week, Joanna!!

      • I mostly grew up playing card games with my grandma and the occasional scrabble which she always beat me, haha. We have been acquiring some for us to play with my daughter. She loves it! Thank you!

      • I had a grandmother that was big on card games, too. My oldest son is really good at Scrabble. He considered going into competitions with it for a while. I can’t beat him.
