Top Ten Tuesday ~ Quotes on “People”

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope your week has gotten off to a good start! Today’s Top Ten topic is Book Quotes that Fit X Theme (Pick any theme you want, i.e., motivational quotes, romantic dialogues, hunger-inducing quotes, quotes that fill you with hope, quotes on defeating adversity, quotes that present strong emotions, healing, etc. and then select quotes from books that fit that theme.)

I love collecting quotes, so this was a fun topic for me. It just took me a while to find a topic that I had collected ten quotes on.

I am only trying to call attention to a fact; the fact that this year, or this month, or more likely, this very day, we have failed to practice ourselves the kind of behavior we expect from other people. ~ Mere Christianity

She understands that sometimes people just need to talk and be heard – not fixed. ~ The Match

Sometimes the more you want to have a connection with someone, the harder it is to make it happen. The best thing to do is sit back and let the world bring your people to you. Isn’t it better to have one or two of the right ones instead of a hundred wrong ones? ~ Mistletoe and Mr. Right

You don’t have to love people the way you learned to love at first. ~ Love at First

That’s always seemed so ridiculous to me, that people would want to be around someone because they’re pretty. It’s like picking your breakfast cereals based on color instead of taste. ~ Paper Towns

…show people who you really are, and you get the absolute thrill of knowing they love you for you. That’s why the friends I do have aren’t many but they know and love the real me. ~ Always Only You

It’s a survival skill I learned early on life – opt out of everything you can. If you’re not available, people can’t invade your shit. It’s preventative protection at its best. A life condom, if you will. ~ The Relationship Pact

Some people are brave bullies. Some people are friendly cowards. ~ Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow

There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it… ~ Pride and Prejudice

Some people take energy; some people give energy…Occasionally, you get lucky and find someone whose energy balances your own and brings you into neutral.

So that’s my 10 quotes on “people.” I know not everyone collects quotes, but I’m excited to see who has and what other fabulous posts others come up with!

Upcoming Topics

June 1: Freebie (choose any past topic, or come up with you own)
June 8: Books I Loved that Made Me Want More Books Like Them (The wording is weird here, so if you have a better way to say this please let me know! What I’m thinking is… you read a book and immediately wanted more just like it, perhaps in the same genre, about the same topic or theme, by the same author, etc. For example, I once read a medical romance and then went to find more because it was so good. The same thing happened to me with pirate historical romances and romantic suspense.)
June 15: Books On My Summer 2021 TBR (or winter, if you live in the southern hemisphere)
June 22: Bookish Wishes (My birthday is today, so celebrate with me by granting the wishes of your friends! This is a popular thing to do on Twitter, but today we’re blog hopping. List the top 10 books you’d love to own and include a link to a wishlist so that people can grant your wish. Make sure you link your wishlist to your mailing address [here’s how to do it on Amazon] or include the email address associated with your ereader so people know how to get the book to you. After you post, jump around the Linky and grant a wish or two if you’d like. Don’t feel obligated!)
June 29: Most Anticipated Books of the Second Half of 2021
