First Lines Fridays 6/4/21

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done one of these posts, but I was in the mood today!

Happy Friday!! I hope you all have had a great week!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page.
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet — you need to hook the reader first.
  • Finally… reveal the book!

First lines:

THE POLICE OFFICER’S body goes blurry, then sharpens again.

I don’t stare at him directly. I can’t really focus on one thing in this room, but when I do look, his face shimmers.

Do these lines look familiar????

This one is from my TBR. It’s been sitting on my shelf, patiently awaiting its turn. I can hear it calling to me, though!

Have you read it? I keep seeing so many great reviews for it.

Any fun weekend plans? I was supposed to go hiking with the hubs this weekend, but it looks like some thunderstorms have other ideas. We’ll just have to reschedule our little anniversary trip.

Happy Reading,
