The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Highlights/Happenings
Monday and Tuesday it continued to rain all day. Monday we had a nasty storm come through (for those of you that didn’t catch my earlier post), and it took out one of the trees down in my front yard. Fortunately it fell away from the house.
I did some shopping with my younger kids to get them ready for camp this week. Friday the yard finally dried up enough for us to cut some grass (for the most part). And then we participated in a game night at our church. Saturday my besties came over with some of their kids. Our kids played board games, and we just spent time catching up and talking about books we’ve been reading.
I didn’t watch any TV this week, but I did watch one movie: Greenland. I thought it was a decent movie, nothing special, but not bad either.
Other hobbies ~ I spent some more time practicing piano this week and practicing my Spanish. And I played a few games this week: Viticulture (first time played – pic on left), Quacks of Quedlinburg: The Herb Witches, Wingspan, Azul, Terraforming Mars (pic on right), and Deception.
And last but not least, the hubs and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary this week!
What I Read Last Week
Suffering the Scot ~ 5 Stars! I so thoroughly enjoyed this one. I really hope to get a review up on it in the next couple days.
Freed ~ 4.25 Stars! Yes I only got two books finished this week, and it’s because this bad boy was over 750 pages long! I really enjoyed all of the scenes we got that weren’t a part of the first book. It wasn’t at all just a carbon copy from his POV. However, there were just way too many sex scenes. If she would have removed about 20 of them then I would have enjoyed it so much more. It was overkill.
Book of the Week
Books Still in Progress
These are the books I have in progress right now. I’ve only just started The Watchers, so I don’t have an opinion on it yet, but I’m still enjoying the others.
What’s happening this week?
My youngest two are heading off to a week of camp this week. They’re excited after not being able to go last year with the world being locked down (praying for those of you still in that situation!!). They’ll be coming back Friday, which will give us enough time to wash all of their clothes, celebrate Father’s Day, and then repack for a trip to TN to visit my father and grandmother. It’ll be the first time I’ve seen them since prior to covid hitting.
I also have my fingers crossed that we’ll be able to start building my new bookshelves this week!
How was your week?
Happy Reading,
Alison
Congrats on your 23rd anniversary! Sounds like you will have a lot to look forward to this week. xx

It’s good to hear Freed wasn’t all just a carbon copy. That makes it sound better than I was expecting.

Yes, that was really nice. It just didn’t need to be over 750 pages. There were just way too many sex scenes.

Busy times coming for you this week and next… lots of packing and laundry, and more packing and traveling. But how great to be able to return to some semblance of normal!

Yes, lots of business, but you’re right – after all the sitting at home, it’s nice to feel like we’re out in the world again.

Seriously, 750 page contemporary? NOPE. Like you said, could have cut out some scenes (probably a LOT of scenes). How wonderful that the kids get to enjoy camp and you get to see your family again. That’s a long time to not see them. Cheers to 23 years!

Yes, a lot of the scenes were very unnecessary. And yes, I’m so glad that things are going well enough here that my kids get to go to camp this year. And I’m for sure looking forward to finally seeing my dad and grandmother next week! Thanks, Sam!!!
