10 Year Challenge Book Tag

I was tagged by Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse to do the 10 Year Challenge Book Tag. This tag created by Rincey Reads. It’s a fun tag that takes a look back at my reading 10 years ago versus today. Please check out Deanna’s post here. Thanks for the tag, Deanna!

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK IN 2011?

I didn’t start tracking my reading at all until 2013, I think. So, I did a hunt for my favorite book from the year 2011. I couldn’t decide between these two that I gave 5 stars to back in the day.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK OF 2021 (SO FAR)?

I just don’t think any other book has impacted me as much as this one this year.

WHAT WAS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE BOOK IN 2011?

I hate sticking this book here because I didn’t hate it (at least not then; I don’t remember it now). I gave it 3 stars, but that was the lowest rating I found for that year.

WHAT WAS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE BOOK IN 2021?

Again, I didn’t hate this book. It got 3 stars from me. And I know a ton of people will disagree with me. I just had trouble at times with it holding my attention.

WHAT IS A BOOK PUBLISHED IN 2011 THAT YOU STILL WANT TO READ?

Funny enough, my pick is the same as Deanna’s here. I was talking to another blogger about this book just a couple months ago, and I’m really wanting to read it!

WHAT IS THE BOOK PUBLISHED (TO BE PUBLISHED) IN 2021 YOU WANT TO GET BEFORE 2022?

All of these for sure!!!

WHAT IS A GENRE YOU USED TO READ A LOT OF THAT YOU DON’T READ AS MUCH OF ANYMORE?

Hmm, I can’t think of a single genre that I don’t read much of anymore.

WHAT IS A NEW GENRE YOU’VE DISCOVERED SINCE 2011?

Mystery isn’t new to me, but I have found that I’m enjoying them a lot more now than I used to. I’m not sure if that’s because my tastes have changed, or because there are more authors with different writing styles out there now, or a combo of both.

WHAT IS A READING OR BOOK HABIT YOU ARE HOPING TO LEAVE BEHIND IN THIS DECADE?

Hmm, nope. I don’t think I have any habits that I’d like to change. I’m pretty content with my reading habits right now.

WHAT IS A NEW READING GOAL OR HABIT YOU WANT TO CREATE IN THE UPCOMING DECADE?

I’d always like to get better at writing reviews in a timely fashion, but often it’s life interfering now rather than me just procrastinating (a problem in the past), so I’m not sure that there’s really anything I can do about that.

I’m not tagging anyone today, but feel free to consider yourself tagged. Just drop me a shout out if you do!

Happy Reading,

Alison

  2. I am posting my tag tomorrow, and mine starts in 2013 too! I can’t believe you read the Channie books. I liked them. The Good Girl books are so amazing. I am obsessed with the series.

    • I’m looking forward to seeing it! And yes, I LOVED the Channie books. I can still remember one of those cliffhangers in particular all these years later. The Good Girl books are definitely amazing!!

  3. I’m rereading The Lord of the Rings. Hopefully it will live up to what I gave it (I gave it 4 stars). But my taste in fantasy has changed since I read it, so we’ll see. I also want to read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer too. That cover calls to me.

    • I honestly think I just haven’t read a ton of books from 2011, or didn’t record them. I started working on a list last year recording the books I’d read under their date published. I need to get back to it! Thanks for tagging me! It was fun to look back at.
