Readathon Updates ~ 9/24/21

Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week, and that those of you who have needed some relief from the heat are finally getting it.

I have read several books since last week’s update, but I believe only a couple of them will mark off some prompts. Let’s see ~

Halloween Readathon

  • Classic Lit Spooky Read ~ The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe
  • A Book in a Series ~ The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson
  • A Book w/ a Murder ~ The Guest List by Lucy Foley
  • A Book w/ Mythical Creatures ~ Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
  • A Horror or Thriller ~ The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
  • An Urban Legend ~ The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

Here’s my TBR to fulfill the rest of the prompts, with the exception of a few I’m listening to or reading on kindle.

I am not at all holding myself to this TBR. I just felt like putting one together for fun, so I did. I’m really hoping to read at least some of these, though. My goal is to at least get a bingo, but it would be awesome if I could black out the board.

Magical Readathon: Orilium

  • The Novice Path Entrance: read a book with a map ~ Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
  • Ashtorn Tree: a book that keeps tempting you (or top of your TBR) ~ What If You & Me by Roni Loren
  • The Mist of Solitude: read a standalone ~ Transcendence by Shay Savage
  • Ruin of the Skye: read a book featuring ghosts, a haunted house, or other supernatural elements ~ Three Trials by Kristy Cunning
  • Obsidian Falls: read a thriller or a mystery book ~ The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

I have definitely completed this since we only have to read 2 of these in September, but I’m still working on finishing all 7 prompts. For Tower of Rumination: read a five star prediction, I’m currently reading A Five-Minute Life.

So, that’s my update for this week. I’m doing weekly updates just to help keep myself straight if nothing else. It helps me see what I still need to work on.

Next week I’ll be sharing my Tropeathon TBR, which I’m excited about! It’s being put on by Misty’s Book Space and Chelle’s Book Ramblings (sorry I’m not linking up, my editor is acting up on me today). Here’s a pic with the prompts ~

I’m really looking forward to digging into Jane Eyre this weekend! What will you be reading this weekend?

Happy Reading,

  1. Doing great, Ali! I thought I’d have more books finished for the Magical Readathon at this point but I’ve technically only read two books that can fulfil the prompts. At least I’ve “passed” though! 😂 I can’t wait to read A Lesson in Vengeance and I’m definitely tempted by These Hollow Vows! Happy reading 🙂

    • Thanks! And two is passing!! You have until April to read the books for your character. She definitely made it easy on us! I’m for sure looking forward to digging into A Lesson in Vengeance and These Hollow Vows!

  2. I’ve completed 2 of the Magical readathon prompts and I’m working on the 3rd which I will for sure finish by the end of the month. I will finish the rest over the next few months. Can’t wait to see what you plan to read for Tropeathon.
