Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week. I’ve been suffering with migraines this week, so I’m really hoping I can get through the weekend without a repeat performance. As long as I’m feeling okay I’m expecting to have lunch with my besties tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to that!
Let’s see what progress I made this week along with new TBRs~
Halloween Readathon
- Classic Lit Spooky Read ~ The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe
- A Book in a Series ~ The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson
- A Book w/ Fall Vibes But No Spook ~ Crying Wolf by Rochelle Paige
- Spin Off or Retelling of a Classic Spooky Story ~ Of Beast and Beauty by Chanda Hahn
- A Book w/ a Murder ~ The Guest List by Lucy Foley
- A Book w/ Mythical Creatures ~ Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
- A Horror or Thriller ~ The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
- An Urban Legend ~ The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving
I am so very close to having a bingo! I’m currently reading Jane Eyre, which will fulfill the prompt for A Book That’s Also a Movie. This readathon goes until the end of the month, so I’m curious to see how many boxes I’ll mark off in October.
*********************************************
Magical Readathon: Orilium
- The Novice Path Entrance: read a book with a map ~ Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
- Ashtorn Tree: a book that keeps tempting you (or top of your TBR) ~ What If You & Me by Roni Loren
- The Mist of Solitude: read a standalone ~ Transcendence by Shay Savage
- Ruin of the Skye: read a book featuring ghosts, a haunted house, or other supernatural elements ~ Three Trials by Kristy Cunning
- Obsidian Falls: read a thriller or a mystery book ~ The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson
- Tower of Rumination: read a five star prediction ~ A Five-Minute Life by Emma Scott
The only prompt I didn’t read for this was Book With a School Setting, but I only had to read 2 out of the 7 this month, so I’m set! I’ll look forward to reading the different prompts for my character between now and April. I’ll share those as I complete them. I loved the video put out yesterday on getting placed into our guilds ~
I got two diamonds, a triangle, a circle, and a square, so I’m in the House of the Arcane. The quiz she put together was a lot of fun!
Today is the start of Tropeathon, which goes through the end of October, so I’m sharing my TBR for that today.

- Second Chance ~ The Homecoming by Robyn Carr
- Supernatural Being ~ Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
- Coming of Age ~ The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna
- Fated Mates ~ Heart Duel by Robin D. Owens
- Time Travel ~ Jane in Love by Rachel Givney
- Friends to Lovers ~ The Bright & the Pale by Jessica Rubinkowski
- One Night Stand ~ Shadows of the Heart by Alexa Smart
- Epic Quest ~ Eye of the Soul by Terri Rochenski
- Forced Proximity ~ Sooner or Later by Debbie Macomber
- Bully ~ Get Even by Gretchen McNeil
- Who Did It? ~ Survive the Night by Riley Sager
- Arranged Marriage ~ The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory
- Age Gap ~ Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
- Final Girl ~ The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
- Royalty ~ These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan
- Dark Secret ~ The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen
- Opposites Attract ~ Opposites Attract by Hailey North
- Rebel Against Society ~ Brew by David Estes
- Ghost House ~ Earth Angel by Kate Freiman
- Enemies to Lovers ~ Surrender My Love by Johanna Lindsey
- Music Star ~ Small Town Girl by LaVyrle Spencer
- Tortured Hero/Heroine ~ The Wish Collector by Mia Sheridan
- Techno Babble ~ This Golden Flame by Emily Victoria
- Fake Dating ~ The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West
I don’t have physical copies of The Final Girl Support Group or Survive the Night, so that’s why they’re pictured separately. I seriously doubt I follow this TBR, but it was still a lot of fun to put together!! You might have noticed that These Hollow Vows was on my Halloween Readathon TBR, but I found a spot for it on this one since I already read another book that fulfilled the prompt I had it on. I really want to read it! Now for the bonus ~

- Reluctant Hero/Heroine ~ Absolutely, Positively by Jayne Ann Krentz
- Chosen One ~ Ember of Night by Molly E. Lee
- Forbidden ~ Thoughtful by S.C. Stephens
So, that’s it for my readathon updates. It was a lot today, but I’ve having a lot of fun with them! And I feel the need to mention again that I am not at all holding myself to these TBRs.
Happy Reading,
Alison

Good luck with the bingo. When I looked at your board, I though — so close! Then you wrote, “so close”. Hope you were feeling well and enjoyed your lunch date.

LOL! Thanks! My migraines have finally stopped, and when they stopped I got my sense of smell back after all of these months. Crazy! Unfortunately, though, we had to postpone our lunch date.

I managed to read 3 books for the Magical Readathon which is what I expected I was going to complete. I will be reading some of the other prompts for that in October. I love your TBR for Tropeathon. I’ve only read one of the books on your TBR and that is The Fill In Boyfriend.

In this case, I remember enjoying it, but it’s been forever since I’ve read it. So, I don’t remember it. LOL!
