Another month has come and gone and we’re over halfway through the next, but better late than never. Let’s see how my month went.
Some October highlights and lowlights ~
- Went camping at Lake Claiborne State Park
- Got to go hiking while camping!
- Enjoyed some birding and added some new birds to my tracker
- Finished the Death Note series (SPOILER: I enjoyed it more before L was taken out)
- Discovered my mom was suffering from pulmonary embolisms
- Watched a football game at Louisiana Tech
- Did my first buddy read with Julie @ One Book More
- Watched some movies: Hocus Pocus 2, Top Gun Maverick, Dracula Untold, and The School for Good and Evil
- Enjoyed a new-to-me restaurant – Sundown Tavern in Ruston, LA
Books I Read
5 STAR READS
4.5 STAR READS

4 STAR READS

It was a slow reading month for me, but I was completely okay with that. I only read 15 books, but they were all at least 4 stars. I got to spend a lot of time outdoors, and it was finally cool enough to enjoy it.
Favorite Book of the Month
I had such a great time bingeing this series with Julie. I was completely addicted, and this was my favorite book in the trilogy.

15 is amazing and from the ratings, it looks like you had a great reading month. I love seeing Hart and Mercy on here because it was my favourite read last month—such an oddly fantastic romance! 😍 I hope you’re having a great November.

You are doing pretty good with the challenges. I totally understand not having more non-fiction read, though, I thought you were reading a few with your daughter for school (?), so you should be able to make that happen, no? I am not familiar with that 5-star books, but whoo hoo! I love high ratings.

Thanks! I’m reading one nonfiction with my daughter, but it’ll probably be the end of the school year before we finish it. The other book I’m reading with her is a historical fiction. I do have three other nonfiction books going at the moment, though. You never know. It could happen. I love the high ratings, too!!

Amazing wrap up! A month with hiking in it always seems a little better than a month with no hiking. And I hope your mom is feeling better.

Agreed! And thanks. She’s still struggling, but it seems like she’ll be in it for the long haul.

Thanks! She has a hoard of doctors appointments. They think she has a blood disorder and will have to stay on blood thinners permanently. They’re currently testing to see if it’s a genetic disorder. She’s been struggling with being short of breath, but she’s still working hard and won’t slow down at work at all.
