First Lines Fridays 2/3/23

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page.
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet — you need to hook the reader first.
  • Finally… reveal the book!

First lines:

***********************************

***********************************

Snow drifted from a steel-gray sky the day my mother was buried, powdering the grid of gravestones and mausoleums in the Montparnasse Cemetery.

***********************************

***********************************

Do these lines look familiar????

***********************************

***********************************

***********************************

A Hint:

It’s a paranormal romance featuring angels.

Author: Olivia Wildenstein

I have a beautiful special editions of this series sitting on my bookshelves (for my bookstore not my personal shelves), and I’ve been curious about the series, but I haven’t heard many people talk about it. I picked up a free kindle copy, though, and decided to give it a go, and I’m so happy I did because I’m thoroughly enjoying it!

Happy Reading,

Alison
