March 2020 Monthly Wrap Up

April showers bring May flowers???? I surely hope not. It seems we can’t go more than 2 days without rain and lots of it. So much that those 2 days are definitely not enough to dry things out, and I’d really like to spend some more time outside. I have been a homebody for years, so this quarantine hasn’t been a major adjustment for me on that front. But I do love spending time out in nature. I’m a country girl and I enjoy spending time out in my woods. I’m really missing that. But, hey, Anne Frank and so many others endured so much worse. Today’s a beautiful day here, though, so I’m going to enjoy it!

Now let’s see how I did with my March TBR. I’m really quite surprised that I did as well as I did considering all the craziness!

Mar. 2020 Challenges Update ~ Part 1

Y’all, I am soooo far behind on keeping up with reviews and such this year, and the craziness we’re all living in today just isn’t helping the matter…at all. But that’s okay. I’m going ahead and posting my progress, but it’s not actually up to date as I have more I need to add in, but I figured I’d go ahead and post what I have kept up to date in my records.

Let’s see how I’m doing so far ~

#IMWAYR ~ 3/23/20

Ali here ~

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

WWW Wednesday ~ 3/18/20

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

How are all of you doing out there today??? I live in the woods but the two closest cities to me, Shreveport and Bossier, both have coronavirus cases, so things have been locked down tight here. Our busiest streets now look like ghost towns. My mother is a nurse at a hospital in Shreveport and in the thick of things. She’s high risk herself at 61 (62 in a few weeks), but she’s a real trooper.

Overall, I’m feeling pretty blessed right now. I have all my needs and those of my immediate family met. But, I keep thinking of all the people that live paycheck to paycheck and might be really struggling right now, those with anxiety/depression, etc. All I can do is pray, but I hate saying “all” like it’s not much because I truly believe in the power of prayer. So, if you’re feeling anxious or alone, scared or depressed, etc., and need someone to vent to, someone to pray for you, I just wanted to say that I’d love to pray for you or be someone to talk to. We all have to lean on each other. We’re all in this together. Know you’re not alone.
