Top 5 Saturday is a weekly meme started by Devouring Books. You can check out the upcoming prompts at the bottom of the post! This week’s topic is Books With One Word Titles. Last week I went with books from my TBR, so this week, I’m going with recommendations!
May was filled with a bit of excitement for me, but unfortunately not the pleasant kind. But, we did have blessings mixed in amongst the chaos. I’m hoping June brings only the pleasant sort of surprises.
Here’s the books I picked out for my May TBR. I know I mentioned at the beginning of the month that this was a very loose TBR. I really didn’t expect to stick to it, but I love putting together lists anyways. Let’s see how many I actually read ~
Title: Grip Series: Grip #1 Author: Kennedy Ryan Release Date: Mar 2, 2017 Genres: Contemporary Romance Blurb: Resisting an irresistible force wears you down and turns you out. I know. I’ve been doing it for years.
I may not have a musical gift of my own, but I’ve got a nose for talent and an eye for the extraordinary. And Marlon James – Grip to his fans – is nothing short of extraordinary.
Years ago, we strung together a few magical nights, but I keep those memories in a locked drawer and I’ve thrown away the key. All that’s left is friendship and work.
He’s on the verge of unimaginable fame, all his dreams poised to come true. I manage his career, but I can’t seem to manage my heart.
It’s wild, reckless, disobedient. And it remembers all the things I want to forget.
Happy Friday! Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend? Maybe 2 walks around your block instead of one? LOL! I hear that more and more places are beginning to open up, but I know there are still a lot of places that are looking at another month at least of quarantine. I know here in Louisiana, people and businesses are just starting to ignore the governor’s laws, though.
My April TBR was almost a complete fail. I’ll hopefully have my April wrap-up post up soon. I have just been such a moody reader this month. And honestly, that’s okay with me! I absolutely LOVE making TBRs because I so enjoy making lists, but I don’t hold myself to them. With my moodiness in mind, I made my May TBR to reflect my current temperament.
April showers bring May flowers???? I surely hope not. It seems we can’t go more than 2 days without rain and lots of it. So much that those 2 days are definitely not enough to dry things out, and I’d really like to spend some more time outside. I have been a homebody for years, so this quarantine hasn’t been a major adjustment for me on that front. But I do love spending time out in nature. I’m a country girl and I enjoy spending time out in my woods. I’m really missing that. But, hey, Anne Frank and so many others endured so much worse. Today’s a beautiful day here, though, so I’m going to enjoy it!
Now let’s see how I did with my March TBR. I’m really quite surprised that I did as well as I did considering all the craziness!
At the beginning of March I was looking forward to vacation and some rare family time – especially with my oldest in college. Little did I know that a couple weeks later we’d start our journey of having more family time than I ever imagined possible again. So, I’ve been doing my best to focus on appreciating that.
But, I still love my reading, too, and let’s face it, it’s a great escape – especially if you can find the right books! I’m really looking forward to completing my O.W.L.s in April, but I’m looking forward to a lot of other books, too. Here’s what I have planned ~ all very subject to change depending on my moods. LOL! But, I’m a list maker….
Hello Everyone! First let me say that I’ve been slacking with getting to my comments and blog hopping the last couple days. I promise I’ll catch up soon! I’ve been busy speeding through a couple books for my group reads and in between, I’ve been working on a puzzle with my kids. I’m squeezing this in while they’re all taking a break. My oldest went fishing with dad this afternoon. My hubs has really enjoyed getting to fish more with all the reduced hours. Anywho….I love a good readathon, and I haven’t come across one as exciting as Book Roast’s Magical Readathon. If you haven’t already heard about it in the past few years, or if you just want more info, you can find that HERE. I am just so excited about this!!
